Fantasy Flight Games are set to release new Clan Wren units for their tabletop smash-hit Star Wars Legion.

Star Wars Legion is a sci-fi fantasy miniatures game based upon Lucasfilm’s Star Wars series of movies and TV shows. It sees two players, each creating an army from either the light or dark side, i.e. Rebels or Empire and re-enact battles set in the Star Wars Universe. The game follows on from other Star Wars successes from FFG; X-Wing,  Armada, and Imperial Assault, to name but a few. It was released in 2018 with forces for the Rebel Alliance and The Empire but has since several expansions and sets released to cover all the time periods featured in the movies.

Clan Wren is a group of Mandalorian warriors that served the Empire under duress. This bond was broken after clan leader Ursa Wren reconciled with her daughter Sabine Wren, aligning the clan with her daughter and Bo-Katan. Clan Wren’s appearances have been exclusively in Star Wars Rebels.

The Clan Wren Expansion includes seven customizable units for Star Wars Legion, three of which are posed in flight and come with height adjustable flight bases. It also includes eight upgrade cards. You can choose to have these units play as the infamous Clan Wren or as more general units fighting for the Mandalorian resistance.

Releasing at about the same time is The Empire’s Inferno Squad Expansion, a set of seven special forces units. There are seven upgrade cards included as well as the option to have squad members Gideon Hask and Del Meeko with or without their helmets. Inferno Squad features in video game Star Wars Battlefront II. Star Wars canon states that they were formed following the destruction of the first Death Star over Yavin 4 after the plans for the battle station had been stolen by the rebels. Inferno Squad was formed to prevent this from happening again. They were given free rein to accomplish their missions and have gained a reputation for their dedication and zeal to get the job done through any means necessary.

Both of the Star Wars Legion expansions are due for release in September and can be preordered now at the Fantasy Flight online store, or your local independent games store.
