You’ll be able to give Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition a whirl for free, in the form of a so-called “Lite” version available for download on your mobile.

This info comes from a new trailer that was released a few days ago, which also shows us some gameplay footage of the upcoming revival of the 2004 action role-playing classic.

In this free version of the game, you’ll be able to play through the first three dungeons of Crystal Chronicles - just enough to whet your appetite and see whether it’s your thing before going for the premium version. The Lite edition will also be available on the game’s console version in the form of a demo.

Co-operative play will be a prominent feature in Crystal Chronicles, with a bunch of features included to make it as streamlined and enjoyable as possible. This includes cross-platform functionality, allowing you to play with others who might be playing on different platforms than your own.

If you’re using the free-to-try version you will also be able to pair up with those who have purchased the full version of the game, too. If you do that, you’ll get to play through the game’s first thirteen dungeons together for free.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition will be releasing on August 27th 2020 for Android, iOS, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch.
