The Final Fantasy games, among a few other titles from Square Enix, are currently on sale for the Switch and 3DS eShops.

Greysun Morales over at Twinfinite found these sale prices on Nintendo’s storefront. The sale will end on September 30 at 9 am PT. All prices are in USD.

That’s a lot of JRPG goodness for a cheap price! The Final Fantasy games suit very well in a hybrid console environment. Back in the mid-2000s, we never would have thought we could bring these huge AAA RPGs on-the-go with us. Now, we can!

Final Fantasy X is arguably the best of the bunch and the package comes with the second game too. While Tidus is an annoying protagonist at first, he grows as the story continues and the cast of characters, even Wakka, will grow on you. The narrative is emotionally powerful and the turn-based combat is the most dynamic and engaging the series gets. It’s a fitting send-off to the traditional style of Final Fantasy with excellent gameplay, an outstanding soundtrack, and a story that holds up to this day. It also had a strong female character in Yuna.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima is a re-release of the previously PlayStation exclusive title. The protagonists of the game Reynn and Lann can now be used as Champions with the Avatar Change System, new mirages have been added, and a fishing mini-game with Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis is playable in this version.

It’s disappointing that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered hasn’t been given a discount yet, knowing that the game has issues. Hopefully one day, the underrated Final Fantasy XIII trilogy will be released on the Switch.
