Minions are one of many collectible treasures in Final Fantasy XIV. Basically, they are little creatures that follow you around. They range from cute and cuddly animals to little robots. They can be found in dungeons, traded for, and even received through retainers completing ventures.
They are a bit like status symbols, but a lot of them are just loved for their adorable designs. Players love to collect them and its hard to choose just one to follow your character around.
Here are ten pieces of fan art that show off these adorable little minions.
10 The Salt And Pepper Seal Pup
Among the cutest of the minions is this little seal pup. It can be found in the level 70 dungeon: The Drowned City of Skalla. However, players can also buy it from others on the Market Board. From its giant eyes to its marshmallow-like body, it is quite popular among players.
The fan art of this minion was made by lahcas.
9 Minion Collection
A ton of minions are depicted in this art by goldfishkang. Among the army is the fat cat, fat chocobo chick, many other chocobo chicks, the demon brick, baby bun, nutkin, cactuar cutting, cherry bomb, goobbue sprouting, and many others.
According to the artist, this is a drawing of their character with their army of minions. It certainly is a sight to see so many at once!
8 Dodo Meets Puk
These two rotund minions are not often found following players, but they are in a lot of fan art. The pudgy puk can easily be gotten, as it is a possible reward for the level 39 FATE: The Eyes Have It. Easier than that, they typically are sold for cheap on the Market Board The fledgling dodo is also easily gotten as it can be bought by Auriana with tomestones.
The art was made by shadeykris and it is not their only piece of Final Fantasy XIV or minion fan art.
7 Pet Dodo
The fancy weaver outfit along with the dodo on a leash is funny as well as adorable. The outfit the character is wearing is specifically for the weaver class. The dodo itself even looks fancy with its little heart collar and leash. It would be fantastic if players could accessorize their minions but alas, that is not part of the game.
This is another piece by the talented shadeykris. Check out her gallery for more adorable Final Fantasy XIV fan art.
6 Minions And Wolf
This fan art commission done by Fiveonthe is another piece with a whole collection of minions. This character has the shiba inu, odder otter, and others. The wolf on the other hand looks like its one of the Stomblood mounts players can get for beating certain bosses on Extreme.
5 Midgardsormr
Midgardsormr is a minion that is actually plot relevant. He follows the Warrior of Light in a smaller form in order to watch over them. This is a commission done by shadeykris, and they made midgardsormr way more adorable than he actually is in the game.
At least his minion form is cuter than his natural monstrous dragon form.
4 Korpokkur Kid
Korpokkur are odd creatures from Final Fantasy XIV. They are like a mixture between a chick, a seed, and a plant. However, it is undisputed that they are cute. There is not only a minion of one, but also a mount. The minion is a rare drop from the level 60 dungeon, Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum.
The art was made by chocolate-rebel, and they are a master of cute art, both original and fan-made. Besides Final Fantasy XIV, they have also done a lot of Animal Crossing fan art.
3 Odder Otter
This popular minion, drawn by andydelvalle, is incredibly popular among players to the point that its design even inspired furniture players can buy for their in-game homes and apartments. The minion can be received by retainers completing exploration ventures as a miner, fisher, or botanist.
The minion even inspired other minions such as abroader otter.
2 The Great Serpent Of Ronka
This silly worm, painted in watercolor by rielteris, is another plot relevant minion. In fact, an entire beast tribe revolves around this creature in Shadowbringers. It may look adorable and goofy, but it is spoken about in-game like it is a god of the forest.
Is it really a god? Players can never tell as the only thing the creature can say is “scree!” It did get popular enough that there is also a mount of it that players can ride.
1 The Fat Cat
Players love the fat cat minion. Its legs disappear from under it the moment it stops keeping up with the player. It, like the salt and pepper seal, has a marshmallow-like body. Unlike the seal though, it got popular enough to inspire in-game furniture and its own mount.
