Fire Emblem: Three Houses’s Blue Lions is led by no other than Dimitri, the prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. Dimitri is house leaders with Claude and Edelgard, and while all of them have wonderful qualities that make them a great choice to join forces with, it’s very easy to make a case for Dimitri as the best of the three. Here are a few reasons as to why Dimitri is the best leader in Three Houses. Spoilers are ahead, you’ve been warned!

10 His Kindness

Dimitri is an incredibly kind and sincere person. All of his interactions with Byleth and his fellow classmates show just how true this is. Despite how much anger Felix shows toward him, Dimitri never wavers (well, he does at a certain point, but we’ll get to that later). He is a kind and gentle soul at heart, and he loves his friends deeply.

9 His Belief In Edelgard

As the story begins to unfold, there are some telltale signs that Edelgard is the Flame Emperor, mostly if you’re playing the Blue Lions path. Due to Dimitri’s relationship with Edelgard, he tries his best to deny what is in front of him, he just doesn’t want to believe that it is true. It is only once Edelgard reveals herself that he has to come face to face with the truth.

8 What He Goes Through

The Tragedy of Duscur, a horrible assassination of his father and many of his friends that Dimitri is forced to live through, changes the boy. While he is kind-hearted, a deep rage begins to build deep inside of him.

He wants vengeance for what occurred on that day, and rightfully so. He was forced to live through something awful that was completely out of control. The Tragedy of Duscur would lead many down the path that Dimitri followed.

7 What He Overcomes

However, Dimitri rises above it all. While he is nothing short of a murderous shell of a person early on after the timeskip, he does eventually come to his senses and lets go of the past, returning to the man that he once was. It’s horrible to see him in such pain for so long, and it’s a change for the better when he chooses to move past it all.

6 His Regret

Dimitri does feel awful for the way he acted and treated his friends when he eventually goes through his breakdown, and doesn’t feel like he deserves forgiveness. Nevertheless, he still fights on. He strives to right his wrongs. Despite what happens to him, he wants to be a good person, no matter what he must do.

5 The Rest Of The House

While we’re showering Dimitri with compliments, we might as well look at the rest of the Blue Lions house as well. The Kingdom is pretty stacked, with heavy hitters like Felix and Ashe to its name.

However, while they are powerful, we’re more interested in their relationships with Dimitri and one another. The Blue Lions have some of the most powerful bonds in the entire game, and watching them grow with each other through the years is incredibly rewarding.

4 His Power

Just like Edelgard and Claude, Dimitri is easily going to be the strongest member on your team during a Blue Lions run. He is an incredibly skilled fighter, and has his own unique class that only he can enter. While the rest of the Blue Lions aren’t weak by any means, Dimitri outclasses them all easily.

3 Edelgard’s Final Moments

Up until the last moment, Dimitri does everything in his power not to kill Edelgard. After he finally snaps out of his hatred toward her, Dimitri vows to not resort to violence unless there is no other option, and, unfortunately, Edelgard refuses to give up until her last breath. Despite everything she did, Dimitri doesn’t want to strike her down, which is incredibly noble of him.

2 The Savior King

Depending on which route you play through, Dimitri can end up as the King of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and he eventually becomes known as The Savior King. He is a benevolent ruler that vows to protect his subjects, their happiness is what he cares about above all. While he goes through so many hardships in his life, all he wants to do is help the world. When he becomes King of Faerghus, he is able to do just that.

1 Dimitri

Dimitri is dealt one of the hardest lives that you could ever imagine, being forced to live through the assassinations of those closest to him. Eventually, the rage that he has due to the Tragedy of Duscur is unleashed, and he lives, soaks, revels in that anger for years. Nevertheless, he soon manages to push through it, and reminds us just how gentle and kind he is. Despite everything he is put through in life, Dimitri is a noble soul who lives to serve his people, his friends. While all of the house leaders have great qualities, Dimitri is truly something special.
