There are a lot of powerful weapons in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. However, this article will deal with the rarest weapons available in the game – though in most games weapons from one category are typically found in the other. Some of these weapons are not only rare, but several also require very rare materials to forge – not to mention an A+ Professor rating. Also, many of these weapons possess special abilities in addition to their high stats; though for these abilities to be unlocked generally requires the weapon be used by a specific character or a bearer of a specific Crest.
10 Parthia
Parthia is a bow; a really powerful bow. It was named after the (real life) Parthians, whose mounted archers the Roman legions were never able to conquer. Parthia has a might of 15, a hit probability of 85, a 10% chance to critically hit, a range of 2, weight of 7, a durability of 40, and deals extra damage to flying units. During the periodic monster events, the beasts the player defeats will sometimes drop a rusted bow. The player must use 10 pieces of mythrils, 2,000G, as well as having an A+ Professor level at a forge to obtain Parthia.
9 Sword Of Begalta
The Sword of Begalta may not have the highest might, but its special power more than makes up for this shortfall. It has a might of 12, a hit probability of 100, a 0% chance to critically hit, a range of 1, a weight of 5, and a durability of 30.
Its special ability is that it heals the wielder every turn in battle; which is useful in a game where the death of a character is (usually) permanent. The Sword of Begalta is new to the Fire Emblem series – being introduced in Three Houses. This sword can be obtained by completing the paralogue for “The Sleeping Sand Legend”.
8 Caduceus Staff
According to mythology (in real life) this was the staff of the Greek God Hermes; in Fire Emblem: Three Houses it is a sacred weapon. In the game this staff is not used as a melee weapon, and therefore doesn’t have ratings in the normal weapon attributes like might and durability (though its weight is a 1), but instead boosts spells cast by its wielder. It increases the range of spells by 1 and restores hit points every turn in battle. The Caduceus Staff is found after finishing the paralogue for “An Ocean View,” which becomes available after Chapter 8.
7 Mercurius
Mercurious is a legendary sword, and another weapon (like Parthia) that is obtained from improving it from its rusted condition. Like Parthia, it can be obtained in its rusted form from defeating beasts during the monster events. To forge it requires 10 mythrils, 2,000G, and an A+ Professor rating.
Mercurius has a might of 15, a hit probability of 100, a 10% chance to critically hit, a range of 1, a weight of 7, and a durability of 40. Perhaps because of its high might and hit probability, Mecurius does not possess a special ability.
6 Gradivus
Gradivus is a lance, and another weapon that is found in its rusted form and must be restored via forging. It has a might of 17, a hit probability of 90, a 10% chance to critically hit, a range of 1-2, a weight of 8, and a durability of 30. Gradivus has appeared in numerous Fire Emblem games, and almost always had a special ability to heal the wielder. However, in Three Houses this lance does not seem to have any additional abilities. Even without a power it is still one of the better lances in the game. To obtain Gardivus the player must find it in its rusted form during a monster event battle and forge it with 10 mythrils, 2,000G, and an A+ Professor rating.
5 Axe of Ukonvasara
The Axe of Ukonvasara is a sacred weapon in Three Houses, and is also one of the better axes in the game. It has a might of 19, a hit probability of 65, a 10% chance to critically hit, a range of 1, a weight of 15, and a durability of 30. This weapon also has the special ability of restoring hit points every turn in battle and is effective against armored enemies; for bearers of the Crest of Gloucester this healing effect is increased. The Axe of Ukonvasara is found in a chest during Chapter 13 – during the segment with Claude, Dimitri, and Rhea.
4 Lance Of Ruin
The Lance of Ruin is one of the better lances in the game, and requires certain conditions be met in order for it to be obtained – and kept. It has a might of 22, a hit probability of 65, a 20% chance to critically hit, a range of 1, a weight of 9, and a durability of 20.
If the wielder bears the Crest of Gautier the Lance of Ruin gives the Ruined Sky ability; which causes the lance to deal extra damage to flying and dragon enemies. The lance is recovered from Miklan after a he is defeated. If Sylvain (Miklan’s brother) is in House Byleth, there is the option for him to keep the lance.
3 Vajra-Mushti
Vajra-Mushti is a pair of gauntlets that appear weak if one just looks at its stats, but is actually a great weapon for those bearing the Crest of Chevalier. It has a might of 7, a hit probability of 90, a 10% chance to critically hit, a range of 1, weight of 7, a durability of 30, and Eviscerates (for characters bearing the Crest of Chevalier). Eviscerate adds 10 to the weapon’s might (making it effectively 17), 10 to the hit probability (making it 100%), and 10 to the critical hit chance. Vajra-Mushti also hits twice when initiating combat (giving it a potential might of 34). This weapon can be found after completing the paralogue of the “Black Market Scheme”.
2 Thunderbrand
Thunderbrand is one of the Heroes’ Relics and a particularly vicious looking sword, with many points jutting off the main blade. It has a might of 13, a hit probability of 70, a 10% chance to critically hit, a range of 1, a weight of 7, and a durability of 30. In addition to its fairly good stats Thunderbrand also grants the Foudroyant Strike ability if the wielder bears the Crest of Charon. This ability gives a +6 to might, a boost of 30 to hit probability, a boost of 30% to the chance to critically hit, and increased damage to armored and dragon enemies. Thunderbrand is Catherine’s weapon, and is obtained after defeating her in Chapter 18.
1 Freikugel
This gnarly looking axe is new to the Fire Emblem games, and is another of the Hero Relics. Freikugal has a might of 23, a hit probability of 65, a 10% chance to critically hit, a range of 1, a weight of 11, and a durability of 20. This axe also gains several special abilities (Apocalyptic Flame) if wielded by a bearer of the Crest of Goneril. Apocalyptic Flame grants an additional might of 15, an additional hit probability of 20, a -5 to strength for those struck by the axe, and increased damage against dragons. This weapon is obtained after the “Dividing The World” paralogue, and only if the player has recruited Hilda. Hilda and Cyril must also be alive to acquire this powerful weapon.
