The first gameplay videos of the Resident Evil 4 HD and Resident Evil: CODE Veronica X HD have been released, giving Capcom fans a taste of what next generation technology can do for the much beloved Resident Evil titles.

While the differences in quality might not be immediately evident, the real draw is having the games available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Fans of the Resident Evil franchise often argue that Resident Evil 4 and CODE Veronica are the two best entries in the series. The former was a competent third person shooter but retained the survival horror elements that make the franchise great. CODE Veronica added 3D backgrounds over the series’ traditional 2D backdrops - and was the only Resident Evil game released on the short-lived SEGA Dreamcast console.

From the looks of the in-game videos, the core gameplay has remained largely unchanged from what fans expect. Again, the graphics haven’t seen a huge overhaul - but they will benefit from HDTVs. Take a look below for the videos and further down for the gallery.

On the senior side of the equation, CODE Veronica X HD has also received its first gameplay video and some new screenshots. Not everyone got a chance to experience one of the more underrated Resident Evil titles, even though it saw re-release on the PlayStation 2 back in 2001. CODE Veronica marked the return of Claire and Chris Redfield after their initial series appearances.
