Now that Call of Duty: Elite is finally up and running, Premium members are no doubt wondering what the first “free” DLC will consist of. According to recent rumors, the first DLC pack for Modern Warfare 3 will follow the same tired and true formula we’ve all come to love (or hate): a map pack consisting of five maps.

As with past Modern Warfare 2 map packs, the first Modern Warfare 3 DLC is rumored to feature five maps. The maps are allegedly titled “Morning Wood,” “Concrete,” “Park,” “Italy,” and “Overwatch.” Most map packs for MW2 contained three new maps and two remakes from the first Modern Wafare. Following the tradition, “Overwatch” is the name of a map from Modern Warfare 2.

The map names come from a series of screenshots posted at ModernPrestige, since removed – though Kotaku managed to salvage one. Take a look below.

Some are questioning the validity of this rumor due to the fact that one of the maps is named “Morning Wood,” and although it is always good to take rumors with a grain of salt, one has to remember that this is potentially coming from the same studio that allows people to customize their callsign with the title “Joint Ops,” tied to a picture of skulls smoking.

These rumors follow Activision’s announcement that Modern Warfare 3 will have over twenty pieces of DLC during the course of nine months. The DLC itself will consist of Spec Ops and Multiplayer add-ons, such as this rumored map pack.

Those who purchased a Call of Duty: Elite Premium subscription will receive this and all future Modern Warfare 3 DLC for free. We just hope Activision gives people their money’s worth and adds more variety to the map packs. While they all take place in different locales and are very different from one another, the maps share one common feature: they’re all very small. Those who love larger maps unfortunately need to adjust their playstyle to combat this, so hopefully we’ll see maps of larger size in one of these map packs.

Modern Warfare 3 is available now for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii and DS.
