Indie publisher Assemble Entertainment announced today that investigative FMV game Jessika is coming to Steam in August.
Developed by German studio TriTrie games, Jessika is a posthumous exploration into the life of Jessika, a victim of suicide whose death may be more than it seems. You play as an investigator hired by Jessika’s father to find out what really happened to her. By following Jessika’s digital footprint, players will follow Jessika’s story and uncover the truth about her death.
Fans of Sam Barlowe’s Her Story will be familiar with the type of gameplay in Jessika. The trailer (below) shows off the way that players can use keywords to dig into the files on Jessika’s computer and discover new footage that slowly unfolds the narrative and reveals the circumstances around her mysterious death.
The game is launching on Steam August 25th, but players can get a sneak peek of the game right now. As part of the Steam Summer Sale, Assemble Entertainment has made a demo of Jessika available for anyone interested in learning more about the game. Players can also wishlist the game and be notified when it launches in August.
Assemble Entertainment recently released another murder mystery of sorts: The Innsmouth Case is a Lovecraftian visual novel that offers a unique comedic twist on the genre. The spooky/silly adventure brings players to the gloomy fishing village Innsmouth to investigate a missing woman. Of course, as things often go with these types of stories, tracking her down won’t be simple. The game features cast of memorable characters, an engaging story with twists and turns, and 27 different endings to discover.
