There aren’t too many games out there quite like For Honor. The game features different heroes for both beginners and experts alike to use from the game’s factions. This includes the likes of the Chinese-inspired Wu Lin, Knights, Vikings, and Samurai. One of the harder heroes to master is the lightweight hybrid known as the Nobushi.
Knowing The Nobushi
The nobushi is classified as a hybrid in the game but has the lightweight speed of an assassin and is an overall lighter hybrid when compared to the heavier lawbringer. She wields a naginata that has perhaps the longest reach out of any weapon available in the game which is great at keeping enemies a good distance away.
This same naginata is also capable of inflicting some serious bleeding damage, great for wearing an enemy down over time. This is also amplified by the way of the shark ability she has that causes extra bleeding damage on top of the current amount she is bleeding. The nobushi even has the hidden stance ability that can be activated during the light attack animation, that lets her avoid any incoming attacks with the exception of guard breaks.
Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Nobushi
The greatest strength is the reach of the nobushi. She can keep enemies at bay with a combination of both heavy and light attacks with her slide slashes ability that lets the nobushi to attack from a reverse direction than the one she is dashing in. This forces an enemy to always have to reduce the distance between you and them in order to attack you.
The naginata though is a double-edged weapon as the nobushi is not as effective in close combat since most of her attacks are intended to keep enemies at bay. If you are taken by surprise and are stuck in this situation, be sure to conserve your stamina in the event you need to make a quick escape since the nobushi only has a total of 120 HP.
The Feats Of The Nobushi
The nobushi’s feats help play into her strengths of speed and keeping enemies at bay. As with all feats in the game, they are split into tiers and can either be unlocked by leveling the character up, unlocked in the beginning, or can be purchased for a large sum of steel.
Tier 1
Iron Lungs - Lets you sprint when out of stamina. Unlocked in the beginning.
Speed Revive - Speeds up the process of reviving allies. Unlocked at level 5.
Body Count - Killing enemy soldiers now regenerates health and stamina. Unlocked at level 7.
Tier 2
Arrow Strike - Launch an arrow strike in a selected area to deal medium damage to enemies stuck in the area. Unlocked in the beginning.
Smoke Bomb - Throw a smoke bomb on the ground to remove enemy targeting. Unlocked at level 9.
Revenge Attacks - Attacks will fill the revenge bar. Unlocked at level 11.
Tier 3
Blissful Rest - Activate to regain all of your health. Unlocked in the beginning.
Long Bow - Use a longbow to shoot an arrow at an enemy to deal a medium amount of damage. Unlocked at level 13.
Sharpen Blade - attacks will gradually deal a small amount of damage as time passes. Unlocked at level 15.
Tier 4
Stalwart Banner - Plant a banner that regenerates the health of nearby allies. Unlocked in the beginning.
Arrow Storm - Launch a volley of arrows over a small area to deal medium damage. Unlocked at level 17.
Fire Trap - Plant a trap that will explode and burn the nearby area when an enemy walks over it. Unlocked at level 19.
How To Use The Nobushi
For the game’s multiplayer, the nobushi is ideal to use in duels for their ability to cause bleeding damage and to keep enemies at bay without too many outside interferences. Their feats, specifically stalwart banner and arrow strike, are good for objective-based game modes such as dominion and breach.
Be patient and wait for the enemy to come at you since the nobushi is great at keeping enemies away from them. It is a bad idea to just blindly rush in and start attacking blindly since your stamina will drain quickly and leave you vulnerable to attacks.
Make sure you absolutely take advantage of the fact the nobushi can cause bleeding damage to the enemy since even getting a few hits in will help you in a battle of attrition. The way of the shark ability will be your best friend in this situation and half of the nobushi’s attacks can cause bleeding to help her secure victory in battle.
