It seems like everyone has been watching Fortnite’s mystery cube, dubbed Kevin by some, for quite some time. The cube first appeared in season 5, created runes during its battle island tour, dissolved into Loot Lake, turned the island into a floating island, absorbed runes, and aided the Fortnitemares event. Some feel as if the time of the cube should come to an end, and that appears to be what is happening.

On October 26, 2018, small cracks began to form around the edges of Kevin which spread exponentially the next day. Clearly, this is building up to something, with many believing this could be the end of the on-going cube-related events. While anything could happen in Fortnite, it’s worth mentioning that the cube’s destruction has been predicted for quite some time.

One of the most popular theories that proved to be hit-or-miss with season 5 suggested that the cube would explode. With the spreading cracks, it seems that this could be a real possibility now. Check out the cracking cube and leaked explosion art below:

Now, it’s worth mentioning that the explosion was just theorized and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt. After all, it’s uncertain what would become of the cube when the cracks eventually become too severe. Nevertheless, the only one in the know is Epic Games, and it isn’t likely to spill the beans anytime soon.

In the meantime, Fortnite players still have a lot to do on the battle island, whether it’s finishing the Fortnitemares event challenges or finding the season 6 week 5 hidden battle star. Regardless of what’s to come, players should likely expect Epic Games to live up to its reputation of interesting events and on-going support, as season 6 is officially at the midway point.

Fortnite is out now in early access for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
