Without a doubt, Fortnite has been the uncontested king of the battle royale genre in terms of popularity, Twitch streamers, and player base, but the recently released Apex Legends may give it a run for its money. It appears that Apex Legends is on pace to become bigger than Fortnite, especially if its growth continues to be unchecked. All of this means comparisons between the two are inevitable, but one fan took it a step further.

Posting to the official Fortnite battle royale Reddit page, user miggy010 shared an impressive mockup showcasing the Fortnite character Jonesy with an Apex Legends background and player card. Jonesy’s card even shows that he has 399 kills, dealt 11,140 damage, and earned 363 headshots. These stats may not be as awe-inspiring as the rising Apex pro Dizzy, but they are nothing to be scoffed at either (if they were real).

While the image alone is worth a few chuckles, the discussions that continued in the comments took it straight into hilarity. Many discussed what Jonesy’s passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities would be in the game, with some discussing the passive as a pickaxe with extended melee range and speed instead of the melee currently found in the game. Other mentions how Jonesy’s passive should be double damage with shotguns, which also led to some good old fashioned ragging on the Mozambique shotgun, saying that 2 x 0 is still 0.

For Jonesy’s tactical ability, it seems most players agreed that it should be a wall, perhaps making Jonesy a defensive character alongside Gibraltar and Caustic. The two most popular ideas for Jonesy’s ultimate were the ability to either summon a port-a-fortress or to have a few seconds of speed building, doubling down on the defensive nature of the abilities established thus far.

Of course, it seems impossible that Fortnite and Apex Legends would have any real crossovers like this (though stranger things have happened). Fans of both battle royale games can hopefully get a good laugh out of this as they wait for the start of Fortnite season 8 and Apex Legends season 1, but we wouldn’t seriously hold our breath for any crossover content.

Apex Legends is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
