Previously, it was revealed that a new limited-time mode would be announced for Fortnite at The Game Awards. That new mode has been revealed to be the 50 versus 50 Last Team Standing mode, and it is available now.
Fortnite enthusiasts may have been waiting for this mode and are almost certainly not disappointed with its rapid introduction and implementation. Epic Games’ continued support and development for the title have made it the popular game it is today, and the new Last Team Standing mode should make it even more popular.
Fortnite’s 1.9 patch provided much-needed Xbox One X Support, and also unlocked Xbox-exclusive heroes. While these updates have been well-received, some fans are still waiting to see cross-play added back to Fortnite after it was removed earlier this year.
The probable hype for this mode has the potential, if somewhat unlikely, to rival Fortnite’s battle royale mode, which received ten million players worldwide within two weeks of launch, in terms of popularity. It remains to be seen, however, if this mode will truly rival battle royale’s development. With the recent patches to the game, hopefully, Last Team Standing mode will be operating at peak capacity for its launch.
While Fortnite has much to offer with its Battle Royale and Save The World mode, Last Team Standing mode may be a welcomed addition for the game’s many fans. This continued development displays why Fortnite was nominated for the best multiplayer title of 2017 alongside COD: World War II, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8, Destiny 2, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. If it indeed wins the award amongst its highly-rated rivals, it is because of Epic Game’s continued support for the fan favorite Fortnite.
Fortnite and its Last Team Standing mode are available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
