While Fortnite is available as a free download, Epic Games has also released retail bundles for it over the years that include some exclusive cosmetics and other items. The latest Fortnite retail bundle comes as part of a collaboration between Epic Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and it will be available to purchase beginning November 17.
The new Fortnite bundle is Joker-themed, and it’s called Fortnite: The Last Laugh Bundle. It will retail for $29.99, so in-line with past Fortnite retail bundles, and it will also be available digitally as well. Those that do decide to purchase it will get their hands on 1,000 V-Bucks that they can use to purchase other cosmetics or the Battle Pass, and skins based on Batman villains The Joker and Poison Ivy. A Midas Rex skin, seemingly a new look for Fortnite’s own King Midas, will also be available in the bundle.
Fortnite fans that purchase the bundle can also get three back blings: Laugh Riot, Back Bloom, and Midas Crest, which correspond to The Joker, Poison Ivy, and Midas Rex, respectively. The Joker will also have two pickaxes, Bad Joke and The Joker’s Revenge, whereas Poison’ Ivy’s pickaxe is called Ivy Axe, and Midas Rex’s pickaxe is called Kingmaker. And finally, players will also be able to equip the exclusive Pick A Card contrail which is, as one might have guessed, yet another cosmetic item themed after The Joker.
Fortnite: The Last Laugh Bundle is just the latest collaboration between the popular battle royale game and DC Comics. The first came in the form of a special Batman in-game event that included a slew of Batman-themed content and also made some significant changes to the battle royale map, transforming the fan-favorite location Tilted Towers into Gotham City.
More recently, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 has featured an Aquaman theme, flooding the map, adding Aquaman to the game along with his trident, and introducing locations based on the character. There was also some Harley Quinn DLC added to Fortnite to help promote the Birds of Prey movie that released in theaters this past February.
While Fortnite has had plenty of crossovers with DC Comics, it has also had content based on Marvel Comics as well. This has included limited-time events based on the Avengers movies, not to mention a variety of skins based on Marvel characters. The most recent example of this is the Captain America skin that was added to Fortnite to celebrate the 4th of July in the US.
Fans can expect plenty more Fortnite comic book crossovers in future.
Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
