Now that the Doomsday event has finally happened in Fortnite, submerging the whole Fortnite map in water, players will have more access to boats and undersea highjinks than ever before. One of the weirdest things about the new update is the unexpected ability to fly boats around the updated map.
Flying a Boat
Now that the Doomsday event is finally over after several delays, Fortnite players have some time to play in the water. This has given some players a chance to be incredibly creative and some managed to figure out how to fly the boats. It doesn’t seem like this is intended at all by Epic, but it is certainly something that players should try before it inevitably goes away with the next patch.
List of Things to Grab
In order to fly a boat, players are going to need a few keys items. This is best done with a group, so grab some friends and dive into a game of squads. Players will have to land near one of the many locations where they can find a Choppa and grab one for themselves. Next, players will need a Grappler and, of course, a boat.
Working as a team, one squad member will have to control the boat, and one will have to control the Choppa. A third player should be in the boat, riding along with the Grappler equipped. As the Choppa lifts off of the ground, the player with the Grappler should hook onto the Choppa, then quickly sit back down. Repeat this process over and over again as the Choppa continues to move upwards. This will carry the boat into the air as well. This will give players a great view of the giant wall of shark-infested water that is now the Storm.
The trick is not easy to pull off, and it may take some practice before a squad can do the boat float without fumbling around. But with a little trial and error, players have gotten down the rhythm enough to be able to fly their boats around the map. Maybe if the rumors of an Aquaman skin for Fortnite are true, perhaps players will get the opportunity to sail around the map as the superhero riding his fish-pulled chariot.
Fortnite is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
