While Fortnite’s 14.50 Update does not add a great deal of new content to Epic Games’ battle royale sensation, it does mark the return of Jetpacks. These are not the same Jetpacks that were Vaulted back in 2018, though, as they have been adjusted to fit in with the Marvel theme that is at the center of Fortnite Season 4. More specifically, these devices are now appearing as items called Stark Industries Jetpacks, and this guide details where players can find them.
To get right to it, the Stark Industries Jetpack in Fortnite has a chance to appear as both floor loot and when searching Chests, and players that really want to obtain the item will need some luck on their sides. This is due to the fact that the Iron Man Jetpack is of Epic rarity, and finding one is quite uncommon as a result. Even still, players that are persistent in their searches should eventually encounter one of these Jetpacks through standard gameplay.
With respect to the functionality of the Stark Industries Jetpack, Fortnite players can use it to gain distance from their opponents with relative ease. It can also be helpful for quickly reaching the tops of certain buildings, though it does have its limitations. Namely, the Iron Man Jetpack’s maximum-charge of 100 quickly depletes when it is in use, which means that players will frequently need to stop their vertical ascents to let the device’s power refill.
It is also worth mentioning that fans will take fall damage if they fully deplete the Stark Industries Jetpack’s energy reserve while they are hovering high in the air. Indeed, this device does not come equipped with any safety features, and players that let its charge reach zero will fall to the ground fast. While this alone does not render this Fortnite Jetpack completely useless, players should keep an eye on their energy reserves in order to avoid taking any unnecessary damage.
Aside from debuting the Iron Man Jetpack, Fortnite Update 14.50 makes a number of changes to the map as well. This includes the removal of all of the festive decor that was added last month for the Fortnitemares event, but perhaps the most notable alternation is that Galactus has changed his positions. This supervillain is now residing directly above The Ruins point of interest, and players should expect him to land, and the season’s final event to begin, in the not-too-distant future.
Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
