As the biggest crossover event in Fortnite’s already impressive history, the Marvel event only continues to expand with the introduction of Gorgers. These massive machines may look intimidating, but can be taken down in a snap if you know the right tricks.

If you’re following the evolving storyline in the latest season of Fortnite then you already know that the planet eater known as Galactus is on his way to devour the world of Fortnite. Ahead of his arrival, Galactus has sent his Gorgers down to cause mayhem across the map, much like last season’s Marauders. The rewards for taking one of these evil machines can be enough to swing the odds of a match in your favor, so you’ll want to know where and how to take them down.

How To Take Down A Gorger In Fortnite

Unlike many other map-specific events and challenges this season, finding a Gorger is not as easy as looking up a location and dropping in. Gorgers always pick a new spot to appear for every match, so you’ll need to adjust your plans on the fly. Look for a big red beam of light while on the battle bus to get a read on where one is. This beam won’t stay around for long, so ping the area on your map to make sure you can find it.

After you know where one is, you’ll want to land somewhere close by, but not actually on it just yet. These are not the most dangerous foes around, but you still need to have decent weapons to take one down.

Finally, you can approach the Gorger itself to take it on. Because they’re decently tanky, you’ll first want to focus your attacks on the drones it releases to defend itself. These will also drop a laser weapon you can use against the Gorger itself, who will, of course, be shooting lasers and rockets at you the entire time. Thin out the drones, pick up a laser, and blast away.

After damaging a Gorger enough it will also drop a mini-rocket launcher you can use against it to really put on the damage. Keep building defenses and using the charged laser and rockets to send a message to Galactus that you won’t go down so easily.
