In Fortnite’s continuous effort to deliver players tons and tons of customization options, it appears that the Playground mode will soon be offering Gravity settings. Specifically, players will be able to set the “Gravity Multiplier” while in Playground mode, to simulate various forms of floatiness.
News of the Gravity Options comes from Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks on Twitter, who posted a rundown of the Gravity Multiplier options. According to the account, Fortnite players will be able to set the gravity as
- Small Planet Medium Planet Large Planet Asteroid Medium Moon Large Moon
It’s unclear how different each of these gravity settings will be and how high players will be able to jump with them on. Presumably, the larger the planet, the greater the gravity but how that will compare to a jump with Hop Rocks or near the Kevin cube back in Season 5 is unclear. Hopefully, there will be no fall damage regardless of the height, though.
Since this is only a leak, it should be treated with a healthy dose of skepticism but Fortnite-related info tends to be pretty reliable. It also stands to reason that Epic Games would want to expand on the Fortnite Playground mode so that players can test a variety of situations. Or maybe they want to pull off some crazy stunts using the ATK and the low gravity will help with getting a really high score.
Whatever the reason for turning down gravity, being able to tweak jump height should result in some really impressive clips, as players try to pull off insane stunts or kills. Perhaps being able to change the gravity will lead to the creation of some custom game modes or new twists on the basic battle royale concept. Whatever the case, it’s important to point out that these settings are relegated to the Playground mode, so there is no need to worry about such a big change coming to Battle Royale proper.
Fortnite is available now.
