Fortnite’s wildly popular limited-time mode featuring Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet ends tomorrow, meaning players have less than 24 hours play as the Mad Titan.

Thanos is almost done with this world. He arrived in spectacular fashion in Fortnite’s universe just a week ago on May 8th, but with his work done, he’s already planning his escape. Apparently, players will no longer be able to join the “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup” mode starting tomorrow. That means there’s less than 24 hours to “wield the gauntlet one last time,” according to the Fortnite Twitter account.

Players who haven’t even tried the mode, let alone been able to pick up the Gauntlet, shouldn’t wait any longer.

The promotion was borne out partially from the directors of Avengers: Infinity War, the Russo brothers, who would play Fortnite while going through post-production on the mega-blockbuster movie.

Also outlined in a Reddit post are several more changes to how Thanos plays. His non-regenerating health has been lowered significantly, but his damage output has been taken up a notch - all this to make sure players feel “powerful” while playing as the most powerful being in the universe.

To be specific, his maximum health has been reduced to 500 from 800 (and keep in mind he has no way to recover lost health). His punch damage has been increased from 80 to 100, and his beam damage has been increased versus players from 12 to 20 damage.

This reverses some of the previous nerfs Thanos went through, when his beam was reduced in damage from 15 to 12, and his health increased from 700 to 800. Still, even with all that power, will he be too easy to take down? It seems all a good player needs is a solid sniper rifle and no amount of Infinity Stones can keep Thanos alive.

The mode has been so popular that it’s unlikely it won’t be back in some form. Perhaps it will reappear just as it was when Avengers 4 rolls out next year, but Fortnite developer Epic Games would be wise to make some sort of replacement for it sooner rather than later.
