The 10th season of Fortnite Battle Royale has finally arrived and as expected, the latest season brings a whole host of changes and new content for players to dig into. Known as Season X, the battle royale mode has adopted an out of time theme which means that much of the content is a new twist on something old. That’s very evident in the Battle Pass skins like Eternal Voyager, X Lord, and others. Of course, the new Battle Pass also has weekly challenges to complete including a brand new Battle Star to locate. Here’s where to find it.
Unlike previous seasons, Epic Games is making Fortnite players work a little bit before making the Battle Star available. Known as the Road Trip missions, players start with three challenges and then can unlock more as each one is completed. While the objectives are fairly standard including dealing damage, searching chests, and visiting certain spots, the Week 1 Battle Star can only be unlocked once all seven challenges have been completed.
Here are the challenges for Week 1:
- Visit Drift painted Durrr Burger Head, a Dinosaur, and a Stone Head Statue Deal 200 Damage to opponents while riding in a vehicle Destroy 10 stop signs with the Catalyst outfit Ride a zipline in 3 different matches Search chests in 3 different named locations Visit Lazy Lagoon and Lucky Landing in a single match Get 250,000 trick points in a vehicle
Once all week 1 challenges are completed, the new loading screen featuring X Lord ducking behind cover unlocks. If players look above his head in the image, four coordinates appear in the form of D2, D3, E2, E3. Essentially, this space is just south of The Block, to the left of the umbrella looking design. Head to that space to find a newly unlocked Battle Star, which instantly unlocks 1 free Battle Pass tier.
The newest season also introduced more map changes, a mechanic used to keep the map feeling fresh and updated for fans. For season 10, it seems that the orb explosion event that triggered in Loot Lake ultimately caused the current map evolution. As such, the classic location Dusty Depot has returned alongside the three original factories on the outskirts, just as longtime players remember them. However, that’s not all as the meteor in the trailer has landed, rift zones now alter sections of the map, and Epic has teased that more evolutions are on the way as Season X rolls on.
Fortnite is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
