It’s likely that Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be two games that are forever linked thanks in large part to the controversy stirred up by the PUBG developers as well as both games breaking massive player numbers on their respective platforms. One thing that Fortnite has over other Battle Royale competitors is its Battle Pass, which offers new customization items for players. With the current season quickly coming to a close, Epic has revealed some changes coming with the Season 3 pass.

In a blog post earlier today, Epic Games revealed the first details of the season 3 Battle Pass for Fortnite. While the progression system style remains intact for this upcoming season, Epic has added 30 new tiers as well as even more loot. A small breakdown of content reveals that this season features the same amount of gliders, pickaxes and emotes. However, the additional tiers bring with them even more outfits, banners, and emoticons as well as all new items like Back Blings, new sky diving effects, and loading screens.

Epic has also completely renovated the challenge system, moving away from three daily options and instead adding seven new weekly challenges. In addition, these weekly challenges stack and can be completed anytime before the season ends, meaning people who purchase the Battle Pass midway through season 3 can still complete all previous challenges. Completing only four out of the seven in total will unlock new rewards like exclusive outfits, letting players pick and choose which challenges to work on.

Introduced at the start of season 2, the Battle Pass is how Fortnite players earn exclusive loot while playing Battle Royale. It comes in two flavors, a free version which offers a limited amount of freebies and a paid version which offers new content for each tier a player unlocks. Acting as a quasi-progression system, players complete challenges to unlock new tiers which then unlock all sorts of new content from character skins, emotes, and more. Epic also allows players to purchase new tiers, either for the in-game V-Bucks or real money.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
