Fortnite Season 3 is coming to a conclusion and Season 4 is on the horizon. Yet players are still mystified regarding what Season 4 might entail. Now, one of the Fortnite community’s most well-known and trusted leakers is hinting at something very big. If the leak’s to be believed, Fortnite may be escalation its partnership with Marvel and Disney to the next level. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 may be a Marvel-themed season of content.

The leak comes from HypeX, the leaker account that is reliable for providing datamined Fortnite information as it’s available. This new leak is something different, however. It’s not based on any specific information or datamined content. HypeX only says that it comes from their source, and one that they haven’t worked with much previously. That said, even HypeX is only willing to say that Season 4 “might” be Marvel-themed. They don’t elaborate on why they’re unsure.

But HypeX does list more specific information that could prove the leak to be accurate in time. They refer to Thor and his weapon Mjolnir as potential cosmetics becoming available as part of the upcoming Season. This alone isn’t proof of an entire season being Marvel-themed, of course. Fortnite has released several Marvel skins with themed equipment before, after all.

HypeX also refers to a Season 4 launch trailer and what it might show. The trailer will feature “a girl cornered in some alleyway by armed skins and she gets saved.” By the time Fortnite players see this trailer, they’ll likely know whether Season 4 is actually Marvel-themed or not. Nevertheless, it’ll serve as something to cite should the leak prove either accurate or false.

In HypeX’s source’s favor, the leaker says that they learned about comic books being put in-game. These comics would be fully readable in-game. HypeX didn’t initially share this information, as the source was unverified. However, a couple days later a Fortnite update datamine revealed a file named “ComicReader.” Shortly after, a comic book could be seen in Fortnite’s menu. It couldn’t be accessed fully, but it read “Comic Title Placeholder #1” and hinted that full comic books would be coming soon.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 is predicted to start August 27, so players won’t have to wait much longer to find out what’s coming next. Whether it’s a Marvel-themed season or just a generic comic book theme that Marvel participates in, big changes are coming to Fortnite very soon. Expect to hear an official announcement from Epic next week.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices, with PS4 and Xbox Series X support planned.
