Following The Prisoner’s escape from the ice block and chains holding him captive underneath the Ice Castle in Polar Peak, it appears as though the heat from his magma-based center is causing a lot of the snow to melt from the northwestern, northeastern, and southeastern quadrants of Fortnite Battle Royale’s map. The character’s recent breakout seems to be acting as a means to accelerate these map changes and kick-start the game’s Season 7 Week 9 round of content, with Epic Games having now added the highly coveted Battle Star for this week.
All Fortnite Battle Royale players who manage to tick off and complete each and every Season 7 Week 9 Battle Pass challenge will be able to receive the new secret Battle Star, and it will be found at the spot marked on the map below. The upper left hand corner of the Week 9 loading screen above hints at the Battle Star being located atop a wooden sleigh, and the secret item can be found in the center of D8 on the map, with the area in question located to the north of Happy Hamlet and south of Shifty Shafts.
Should anyone not be able to find the location of this week’s Battle Star based on the information above, they might be able to do so by knowing that the location chosen by Epic Games this time around is the former spot of the large chair. Those who nab the Battle Star for Season 7 Week 9 will then be granted 10 Battle Stars in total, which ought to equate to a full Battle Pass tier in Fortnite Battle Royale, and ultimately help players level up.
With Fortnite Battle Royale’s Season 7 Week 9 already here, there’s no doubt that plenty of players are starting to turn their attention toward what Epic could be introducing in the next weekly cycle of content for the free-to-play shooter. Some are speculating that an earthquake’s coming in Season 8 to shake up the contents of the map, but we will simply have to wait and find out of that’s going to be the case.
Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
