It’s time to dance into action!
Fortnite welcomed Season 9 and its load of new content in May. While many classic locations remain mostly untouched, others have been given extreme makeovers. In the spirit of celebrating Fortnite’s newest season, it’s time to take a look at some of the best major landing locations — some new and some old.
Everyone has their own strategy. Some wish to jump right into the action while others like to hang out on the sidelines, so these suggestions are not one-size-fits-all. That being said, here are a few key spots you might want to consider before you find yourself taking on another round.
10 10. Haunted Hills
If you’re looking to head somewhere remote, Haunted Hills was made for you. Located at coordinates B2, the cemetery and surrounding buildings are known to be scattered with loot. The castle, in particular, is a prime landing point — and because this spooky spot is so close to the edge of the map, it will likely be all yours if you choose to venture so far out.
Just remember to not waste too much time and keep an eye on the storm. You’ll be fine!
9 9. Pleasant Park
This residential neighborhood, located on the map at coordinates C3-C4, is of mid-popularity. If you’re looking for something slightly more central yet just as full of buildings, this is it.
The Modern House has been destroyed in Season 9, but otherwise, the layout has remained the same. There is a whole lot to scavenge, and when the storm starts to close in, there are several points of interest nearby that are easy to run to.
8 8. Lucky Landing
Positioned at coordinates F10 on the map, this Asian-inspired town is a prime location for treasure chests. Lucky Landing was first added to the map in Season 3, and its abundance of buildings could only mean one thing: an abundance of loot.
The best strategy, if you choose to settle here, is to land on the roof of a tower and work downward. Be warned that if the bus moves from the south to north, this location can get kind of crowded — but other players are no match for you, right?
7 7. Dusty Divot
Located near the center of the island at coordinates F5-F6 and G-5 through G6, Dusty Divot is always bustling with action. While new players might want to avoid the overgrown government research facility due to its popularity, there are lots of items to loot, and more experienced players will be able to come out on top.
Season 9 has welcomed summer by adding a snow cone truck, a few lawn chairs and a grill outside of the facility.
6 6. Happy Hamlet
Wishing it were colder out? Wanting to make a snowman? Then head to Happy Hamlet: the perfect Scandinavian town for looting and chest-searching. In fact, the location is known for having the second-most possible number of chests (26) behind Neo Tilted (35).
The building-littered location was added in Season 7, replacing Flush Factory. Unless the bus decides to start its air cruise nearby, the town likely won’t be too populated by your competitors. Thankfully, the number of hiding spaces is large.
5 5. Paradise Palms
Located in the southeast corner of the map at the coordinates H8-18, Paradise Palms is a small oasis city containing a hotel, pools, homes, and stores. While the only noticeable difference in the new season is that the grass continues to grow greener, Paradise Palms remains a great looting location.
Because it is near the edge of the map, it is usually less populated than some of the locations near the center. If the storm doesn’t close you out, the top of the hotel is an ideal sniping location.
4 4. Fatal Fields
3 3. Snobby Shores
Yes, it’s a risk — but it might be one worth taking. Snobby Shores, centered at the very west of the map at coordinates A5, is a luxury neighborhood stocked with goodies inside.
What’s particularly nice about it — outside of the high likelihood that you’ll find a couple of treasure chest — is that the location has a nice flow toward the center of the map. You can easily work your way through and move on, as long as you’re skilled at looting fast. Although, if the bus starts near here, it could get overcrowded pretty fast, so consider all your options.
2 2. Neo Tilted
Tilted Towers has been given a futuristic remodel in Season 9. Located at coordinates D5-D6, this energized city is great for sniping.
It’s incredibly popular, so more experienced players will be able to weed out the competition and then loot a few buildings with ease. Its central position on the map also makes it easier to stay out of the storm, as long as your up for fighting off everyone who lands there alongside you.
1 1. Mega Mall
The brand new Mega Mall — located at map coordinates H6 — replaces Retail Row in Season 9, which was destroyed in the Volcano eruption.
The multi-story mall and surrounding buildings are similar in composition to that of the original Retail Row, but the theme is much more futuristic. Its a popular location due to the expansive amount of treasure chests and loot, but if you can keep an eye out, it might be worth it.
Plus, if you need to get somewhere fast, just blast yourself through the rooftop vents to make your escape.
