With Fortnite Battle Royale now being one of the most popular games around, the development team at Epic Games is continually making fresh items, events, and modes available in the title so as to keep longtime fans engaged and newcomers joining the fold, with the company having recently added a heavy shotgun for players to use. While these near-constant updates are definitely appreciated by many, there are always some who are looking to the future, with a leak now pointing toward the studio possibly adding a legendary tactical assault rifle soon.
As seen in the image below shared by the Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit community member known as “OkamiMemoS”, the potential legendary tactical assault rifle appears to have a scope attached to the top, which will help set it apart from its lesser variants by giving it more accuracy. One Redditor stated that it’s already in the game’s Save the World mode, and went on to speculate that it will not only have longer range with the scope, but also will have burst fire capabilities and not fully automatic firing.
While many Fortnite Battle Royale fans would welcome the legendary tactical assault rifle with open arms, some have argued that Epic Games should focus on optimization and server upgrades instead in order to ensure that the title runs more smoothly across all platforms. What’s more is that with the company having yet to confirm the weapon’s inclusion in the game, it’s important to note that this leak could be inaccurate, so fans will need to take news of its possible addition with a grain of salt.
At any rate, Epic Games definitely appears to be putting most, if not all of its resources into ensuring Fortnite Battle Royale remains a hit, as the developer’s recent reveal of an in-game replay editor and live recording features will help popular streamers create content that assures promotion of the title continues unabated. After all, the less time fans spend thinking about Fortnite, the more opportunity competitors like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has to sway players away from the free-to-play title.
Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS devices, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
