It’s been an exciting month for fans of Marvel and Fortnite, especially players who love crossover events and getting to experience two favorite franchises in one. Many fans already know that Fortnite Season 4 will be Marvel-themed, and the devs are teasing even more Marvel superheroes that will land in Fortnite in the event starting tomorrow.

Pretty much every Fortnite fan knows about the legal battle Epic is facing with Apple and Google right now, but that hasn’t stopped the hype from building for Chapter 2 Season 4 in late August, specifically the 27th. Earlier this month, a leaker claimed that Marvel’s Thor would feature in the next season, and the official Fortnite Twitter confirmed that and also teased a bunch of cool skins and superheroes.

The latest official tweet announces that “the War to save Reality begins tomorrow!” alongside an image of four superheroes: Captain America, Groot, Wolverine, and Mystique. Twitter user and Fortnite leaker @HYPEX previously claimed that a Wolverine skin is coming to Fortnite, and now that a comic version of the clawed superhero is on the official Fortnite Twitter, that leak is confirmed. That same leaker also claimed Groot would show up in the battle royale, making this a great month for fan rumors coming true.

Both Wolverine and Mystique are frequently associated with Marvel’s X-Men, adding these two superheroes to the already leaked for Fortnite X-Men character Storm. This group of superheroes has a huge following, both for movies and for comics, and it’s cool to see the Fortnite x Marvel event focus on other superheroes than the usual Avengers. Of course, the Avengers will be getting their time to shine, and it looks like Fortnite is focusing Season 4 largely on Thor.

Several in-game Marvel comics in Fortnite are deepening the lore and the excitement for what promises to be a huge event. The comics reveal that this crossover will focus on Thor and Galactus’ journey to find five worlds to give Galactus the power to fight “The Black Winter.” There’s still a lot of questions, like whether Galactus and Thor are players’ friends or foes, but at least players will have access to awesome superhero skins in whatever fight there is to be had.

Although the Wolverine and Groot skins were already leaked, it’s nice for fans to finally have official confirmation that they can see these superheroes in-game. It’s still unknown exactly how players can acquire these skins, but more information is sure to be coming when the season begins.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices, with PS5 and Xbox Series X support planned.
