The newest season of Fortnite has arrived. Season 3 of Chapter 2 brings a flooded map, Aquaman, and more to Fortnite, as the battle royale turns the page into a Summer themed season. But along with all the new content and features, some fans are wondering about the cars that were seen in the opening cinematic for the new season.

Each season of Fortnite comes with new weapons, META changes, map alterations, and things that get the player base excited. One new item from the trailer shows off driveable cars. However, players will quickly notice that there are no cars that can be driven when they boot up the game. Instead, those cars will appear later in the season.

Just like with Season 2 and the helicopters appearing part-way through said season, the vehicles will be able to be driven at some point within Season 3 of Chapter 2. In time, players will be able to rush through the map with the fast and hi-powered traversal vehicles.

At the moment, driving a car around seems like it would be tricky, as the map is nearly completely flooded. However, leaks show that the Fortnite map will change throughout the season, so when the land gets a bit drier, cars will probably be added to the game.

While players wait for said cars, helicopters can still be used to fly, boats have become even more prevalent in gameplay, and even sharks can be ridden throughout the waters of Fortnite. So there are still plenty of traversal options while fans wait for the cars.

Fortnite has always been creative with its transportation. Shopping carts, cannons, rifts, hamster balls, and more have all been exciting and fun ways to get about the map. The cars won’t be the first four-wheeled motorized vehicle, however, as the ATK and Quadcrasher were favorite modes of transportation in the last chapter.

From the opening cinematic alone, cars look to be fast, powerful, and fun to drive. In the map’s current state, they would not be overly helpful in about 75% of the map. But perhaps when the land dries a bit, those fast cars will be racing throughout the Fortnite island.
