Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 introduced boss NPCs that players had to fight in order to get keycards that could in turn be used to open vaults. This mechanic remains intact for the recently released Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3, and as it so happens, one of the Week 1 challenges tasks players with opening a vault at the Catty Corner location on the battle royale map.
Opening the Catty Corner vault is simple enough, but players need to know where to look. Catty Corner is located southeast of Lazy Lake and slightly southwest of Retail Row. It is likely to be a high-traffic area as Fortnite fans work at completing their Season 3 challenges, and so players will want to make sure that they go prepared. There will also be dangerous NPCs to contend with at Catty Corner as well, so it may be a good idea to drop somewhere else, gear up, and then head over to Catty Corner to complete the challenge.
Upon arrival, players will want to kill the Kit boss and his henchmen. Killing Kit will make him drop the keycard necessary to get inside the Catty Corner vault. From there, it’s just a matter of using the keycard on the panel outside the vault, which is sitting in plain sight. Fortnite players can then enter the vault, collect some high-tier loot, and complete the Week 1 challenge with relative ease.
If anyone is still having trouble finding the Fortnite Catty Corner vault, this video from HarryNinetyFour shows players exactly where they need to go to enter the Catty Corner vault:
Like with any other season of Fortnite, completing challenges like this is really the best way for players to level their Battle Pass and earn new cosmetic content. Chapter 2 Season 3 will have more than just the regular weekly challenges, though. Fortnite fans will also be able to complete a variety of Aquaman-themed challenges, presumably to unlock a skin based on the popular DC comics character later in the season. This is what Epic Games did with Deadpool in Season 2, so it’s interesting to see it continue with Season 3.
Moving forward, it will be interesting to see how Epic Games continues to shake things up when it comes to Fortnite. The Season 3 update flooded Fortnite’s map, and so one has to imagine that Season 4 will bring with it yet another dramatic change.
Fortnite is out now for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
