Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 arrived two weeks ago, bringing a host of changes to Epic’s popular Battle Royale. The most dramatic of these is the flooding of the island, which has left most of Fortnite’s map submerged.
In fitting with this theme, Season 3 is focused on everything watery, with new boats, shark-riding, and even Aquaman. In the time since Season 3 launched, the community has discovered most of the sunken island’s new secrets, but there’s one that still eludes the majority of players. The Loot Boat, as it has been dubbed, is a tricky thing to find, but worth it for those players who do so.
Landing at Sea
Unlike many of Season 3’s new features, the Loot Boat can be incredibly difficult to track down. This is because it’s a tiny boat that never spawns in the same place, and doesn’t appear on the map. In fact, the best way to find the Loot Boat quickly is to spot it from the Battle Bus.
Carefully scanning the shoreline from the air, players should look out for the tiny vessel somewhere off the coast. The Loot Boat won’t be available for long, however, so taking too long to spot it will result in a lot of wasted time. Once it’s been spotted, the only real way to reach the boat on time is to drop directly on top of it, and hope other players haven’t had the same idea.
A Pirate’s Haul
Though tricky to spot, the Loot Boat is more than worth the effort of finding. Despite its small size, the boat is so full of loot it’s surprising it can float. There plenty of chests to find, some hidden, others out in the open, offering more loot than a player can carry.
To make things even better, some of the chests are of the rarest variety, and there’s even a Loot Crate. As if this lootable bounty wasn’t enough, the boat is also a great place to harvest materials, with the mast containing enough wood to set a player up for the rest of the game. However, players should make sure to plunder as quickly as possible, as the storm will hit the Loot Boat first. Fortunately, there’s a speedboat hanging off the back that can be used to race back to the island.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
