A spaceship has crash-landed in Fortnite. Here’s where to find its missing parts so the astronaut trapped inside can head back home.
There are a few things that have kept Fortnite popular and relevant for three years and counting. Epic continues to make wholesale changes to the game while still keeping its core the same so that it doesn’t drive too many of its hardcore fans away. On top of that, it stages crossover events with other mainstream franchises. Above all else, no matter what, there is always something to do on one of its islands.
Some of those things will pertain to the main thread of the season, while others will not. At first glance, it might not be all that clear what is core to Fortnite’s story and what isn’t. Take the marooned spaceship that recently appeared, for example. The waters subsided and beneath the waves was a peculiar craft. What’s more, there’s a poor astronaut trapped inside.
Since the astronaut has no escape from the craft, they need to rely on the kindness of Fortnite players to fix the ship. To do that, they will need to first find the damaged vehicle. As is demonstrated in the map below, it is on a tiny island just off the coast of Craggy Cliffs. There are three components players need to find and take back to the broken spacecraft to make it flight-ready.
The closest missing part is the Battery Pack. Players will need to break a rock just off the shore of the island on which the spaceship is stuck to find it. After collecting the part, head back to the spaceship and install it. The next part is the Head Shield. This part is on the shore of the main island, just off to the left hidden behind a rock. Again, once collected, head back to the ship and install it.
The third and final part of the ship is a little bit further again, but still not too far away. It’s the Thruster and has become embedded in a nearby cliff. It will be glowing green so is hard to miss, but will require players to build in order to collect it. Once installed, a countdown will appear above the ship. Once it hits zero, the player who installed the final part will be transported through a Rift and the ship will have disappeared. The player who fixed the ship will get 25,000 XP for doing so.
