We know Fortnite and Stranger Things have teamed up, and thanks to dataminers we now have a little extra info on what to expect from the collaboration.

Whether you love it or hate it, the Fortnite hype cannot last forever. That’s why Epic is making the most of its incredibly mainstream popularity while it still can, however long it may last. So far in 2019, it has done that via some pretty massive collaborations. First with Marvel, and then again with John Wick a few weeks later.

At this year’s E3, Epic revealed that it has another crossover event in the pipeline. Fortnite will soon be teaming up with Netflix to bring Stranger Things to the island. In terms of anything more than that, we got very little. We got nothing, in fact - not even a release date. Although we’re assuming it will be rolled out around the same time as Stranger Things 3 which will be released on July 4, 2019.

Thanks to dataminers, we now have a little more info on what to expect from the Fortnite x Stranger Things event. The code is all there and ready to go, reports Dexerto, it’s just a case of making sense of it. The most notable discovery is the addition of something simply described as “weird objects.” What those weird objects might turn out to be is anyone’s guess.

The other discovery comes in the form of sound files. As you can hear for yourself below, it would appear that portals will play a big part in whatever Epic and Netflix have planned for the crossover. Since the cast of Stranger Things travel through portals to gain access to The Upside Down, that makes perfect sense. Will Fortnite players have the chance to venture into the alternate dimension themselves?

Despite the little information we currently have, as fans of both Fortnite and Stranger Things, we are extremely excited. Plus, everything revolving around the last two crossover events has been incredibly well done, from the associated LTMs to the extra skins on sale. If we have the chance to dress as Dustin and fight off Demogorgons, we will be incredibly happy during this collaboration.
