The developers of Friday the 13th: The Game have recently reached out to the community to update them on the next major patch. The announcement begins by stating no new patches will be released for the remainder of November.
The update was posted in the Friday the 13th official forums, and gives a general idea at what players can expect in the game’s next patch, but offers no dates as to when it will be implemented. With November drawing to a close, it isn’t terribly surprising the patch won’t be released before the end of the month. But there isn’t a promise it will be released by the end of the year, either. Currently, there is “no ETA for the new patch at this time,” and the patch will instead be released immediately after it is completed and approved on all platforms.
As for the patch’s contents, there is the planned raising of the current level cap to 150 that was announced a few weeks back. Hitting the new level cap will unlock a variety of new content, including new kills, Jason skins, and an assortment of clothing options for counselors. According to the post, this is the least exciting part of the patch, although the devs say they looking forward to it. As for new, unannounced content, the devs offer a hint by suggesting players check the planned content road map.
What they’re referring to is the Friday the 13th DLC roadmap that was released a couple month ago, which acts as a guide to future content releases. It offers names for planned content, as well as a rough idea of when it is expected to release. According to the map, the new year will bring new Jasons and new game modes, all of which could be included in this next patch if the hint is anything to go by.
The post goes on to make clear that the patch will not be balance focused, but will still include the necessary adjustments to balance the game as needed. Instead, the main goal of the upcoming patch is to introduce new content and squish troublesome bugs. The post closes by recognizing that Jason requires some additional tuning, but says more posts will be released in the following weeks in regards to those changes.
Friday the 13th is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
