With only a few days left before Friday the 13th: The Game is finally released, players are undoubtedly deciding whether PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC will be their platform of choice. While single-player may be out of the question, fans may not need to worry so much about platform choice for multiplayer because the developer, Gun Media, has confirmed that cross-platform play is currently in the works.

While it may seem like game is lacking a few features at the moment given that cross-platform play is seemingly up in the air, as well as the lack of a Friday the 13th: The Game single-player mode until the Summer, the multiplayer mode is fleshed out enough that fans won’t get bored for some time yet.

“We hope to make this cross-platform between all three launch platforms, however there are quite a few logistical issue to solve before we can confirm. Some of which are out of our control.”

With players given the choice between playing as the machete-wielding Jason Voorhees or the rat-pack of targeted camp counselors, as well as the distinct old-school horror atmosphere from the 80s, Friday the 13th: The Game is looking like it will have enough content for players not to worry about cross-play for the time being.

Cross-platform play will undoubtedly be a welcome addition for the game and the fact that Gun Media are working hard on it is a good sign, but we’ll just have to wait and see whether the feature will ultimately make it into the game. Based on what’s been shown of Friday the 13th: The Game so far though, fans will get their share of scares and thrills regardless of platform choice.

Friday the 13th: The Game is scheduled for launch on May 26th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
