The HS30EXR is a notable improvement over the HS20EXR model. It has a best-in-class viewfinder and the inclusion of a rechargeable li-ion battery is welcome. The significant 24-720mm lens will be a deal-maker for many, yet the 16MP sensor can’t quite deliver the detail and quality at the crucial mid-high ISO settings. Deal breaker? Perhaps not: the HS30EXR is otherwise a good all rounder with some great features that’s just a few steps shy of ‘super’.
