Many of us grew up watching Disney movies, especially Disney animated movies. The Mouse has brought us a lot of joy, laughter, and tears over the years. No matter what, we could count on Disney to give us something interesting. The company has had its fair share of ups and downs, and it’s had periods of amazing movies and not so amazing movies. (The decade of sequels was a dark time for us all.)

I think it was actually thanks to Disney that I developed such a love for animation and cartoons. I loved putting in the VHS tape and watching my favorite Disney movies over and over (Beauty and the Beast was a personal favorite of mine, and it still is.) Even today, I like watching Disney’s latest movies and I always look forward to what they’re planning in the future.

Part of Disney’s charm is that it makes use of a lot of non-human characters. Whether it’s anthropomorphized animals, inanimate objects that are a lot more animated than they should be, or even personified emotions, Disney can make you fall in love with any character.

But what would these unique characters look like if they actually were human? Well, that’s what many artists have been determined to find out. Several fans have decided to take some of Disney’s popular non-human characters and give them a human twist. It’s fun to see how these characters could be seen and how artists interpret them differently. So here are 25 non-human Disney characters reimagined as humans!

Think we missed some good ones? Make sure to comment in the section below!

25 It’s No Worries For These Guys

Timon and Pumba were interesting additions to the cast of The Lion King. They were silly, crazy, and probably the best/worst thing for Simba who was still reeling from his father’s passing and feeling responsible for it. While maybe it wasn’t the best thing for Simba to run from his past, it probably was good for him in the short term.

Simba is rocking the long, flowing red hair.

So how would these guys look like as humans? I really like this interpretation of them since they still have characteristics of their animal selves. Pumba is still a pretty big guy with a goofy smile. Simba is rocking the long, flowing red hair, and Timon reminds me of some sort of smooth-talking con man, which he kind of gave off that vibe in the movie anyway.

24 O’Malley’s Still Got It

If you think about it, Aristocats was pretty much Lady and the Tramp, but with cats. Although Aristocats did have more of a plot going, where Duchess and her kittens are trying to get back home after being “lost” by their butler. Duchess’s interactions with Thomas O’Malley are so entertaining but very sweet. O’Malley is obviously taken with Duchess, but he’s also very respectful of her, not pushing her, but letting her know of his feelings.

And I love this artist’s look at the human versions of these two cats. Duchess looks every inch of a lady, and Thomas has this very cheeky and rascally look to him that’s both charming, but also respectful. This is a guy who’s every inch of the romanticized “bad boy.” They both look very good together.

23 This Secret Agent Is Looking A Little Different

I’ll admit that my favorite part of the Phineas and Ferb series was the whole subplot where their pet platypus was a secret agent that was thwarting one particular supervillain from taking over the Tri-State Area. Yep, that was a thing, and it was glorious. For never talking, Perry could be incredibly expressive.

For never talking, Perry could be incredibly expressive.

How would he look like as a human? Fans have a few different ideas. I actually really like the idea of him having darker skin with orange hair. That unique coloring really matches his unique coloring as a platypus. On the other hand, giving him teal hair is a pretty fun idea as well. No matter what he looked like, he’d still be out there, fighting evil and protecting those he cared about.

22 They Make A Beautiful Couple

Did you know that Lady and the Tramp was loosely based on Walt and his wife’s own little cocker spaniel? It’s a charming movie that takes that old trope of lovers from different worlds but makes it rather enjoyable to watch. I loved Tramp’s reckless behavior and his dedication to protect, and Lady was just so sweet and beautiful.

So how would these two be as humans? I love this version of Lady having a lot of wavy hair since it looks a lot like a cocker spaniel’s ears. Making Tramp have darker skin as a human is an interesting choice, but I think it suits him well. You can tell that these two people come from very different walks of life but are brought together in a rather sweet way.

21 They’re A Pair Of Unlikely Friends

I feel like Bolt doesn’t get enough credit, especially for its creativity. We’ve got a dog who’s convinced he’s a superhero, but slowly learns that everything in his life has more or less been a lie. And the movie does touch on the toxicity of Hollywood and how it can be detrimental. Plus, Bolt’s interactions with Mittens the street cat are also pretty hilarious and touching.

I like that this artist kept the color schemes on the human versions.

So how would these two be as humans? I like that this artist kept the color schemes on the human versions, giving Bolt a dark lightning bolt in his hair, and making Mittens just as freakishly skinny as she was as a cat. I also love Mitten’s green eyes; they just pop. I can imagine the story going a bit similar with Bolt believing he’s a superpowered superhero, while Mittens is doing her best to convince him otherwise.

20 They’re The Best Cops In The Precinct

Who doesn’t love our favorite Disney cop duo? Judy and Nick are the very definition of opposites attract. They are so different in many ways, and yet they end up working together incredibly well. Nick’s street smarts and connections blend perfectly with Judy’s fearlessness and ingenuity. The fact that they’re supposed to be mortal enemies just adds to their great partnership.

And I really like these two human versions of them since they show to be human but still retain some of the original animal qualities. You can tell that Judy is just ready to jump to work and Nick’s laidback attitude is so obvious in his stance and expression. These two as humans would still be amazing cops, showing that being different can be an asset, not a liability.

19 They Look Pretty Cute Together

Remember when Disney decided to do Oliver Twist, but with animals? Well, that was Oliver and Company. And the movie was actually pretty good. The characters were rather memorable, and I liked the dirtier, harsher animation style Disney went with for this movie. I’m kind of surprised the movie didn’t do that well. I enjoyed it, at least.

Dodger is totally rocking the five o’clock shadow look.

I do like this version of human Oliver, Dodger, and Rita, since they still feel very true to their animal counterparts. Oliver is just adorable as a little boy (I love the backward cap) and Dodger is totally rocking the five o’clock shadow look. He looks appropriately scruffy, and he’s still got his iconic red scarf. And Rita is looking fabulous as always. You know these two would still be looking out for our little Oliver.

18 These Two Are Truly Adorable

Who doesn’t love the love story between two robots? What impressed me the most about the movie, Wall-E, is that the majority of the storytelling was done with little to no dialogue. And yet, through the actions, sounds, and expressions, you get a rather beautiful, if somewhat strange story. And Eve and Wall-E as a couple are seriously so cute.

And I think the human versions of these two robots are even more adorable. I love Eve with white hair. And Wall-E being portrayed as this slightly clumsy, but gentle young man is so incredibly accurate. Wall-E practically is the definition of “adorkable” and these two human versions of him really fit that. I think he would win Eve over in the same way, showing his sweet, yet very awkward side.

17 These Three Are Trouble

The three main hyenas in The Lion King were probably the movies biggest source of comedy. But that didn’t make them any less intimidating. Yeah, they were silly, crazy, and bickered with each other nonstop, but get them in hunting mode, and they can be pretty scary. Plus, they’re the ones who ultimately took down Scar, so you really don’t want to mess with them.

You wouldn’t actually want to meet them in a dark alley at night.

I like this artist’s version of the hyenas because it shows their personalities so well. Shenzie is this cunning lady, Banzai looks ready for a fight, and Ed is… well, Ed. This picture is great since it shows the hyenas in their comical glory, but also gives them a darker air of violence. You laugh at them, but you wouldn’t actually want to meet them in a dark alley at night.

16 Oo De Lally What A Day

The story of Robin Hood and his band of merry men has been told and retold over the centuries. So, it’s no surprise that Disney took a crack at it with an all animal cast. And it was actually pretty good! Fox Robin Hood is perfect and the different animals really just added to the story, making it fun, silly, and interesting.

So how do you make a human version of an animal character that was originally based on a human? Not easily, but these artists did a great job. I like how you can tell that Robin Hood and the minstrel are pretty obviously based on their animal counterparts. It would’ve been easy to just make them generic humans, but these versions have quite a bit more flair to them, which works really well for these characters.

15 Be Prepared For This Guy

Who could forget Scar in all his regicide glory? Not only did this villain have one of the best villain songs to come out of Disney, he was probably one of the craftiest Disney villains. This lion used his wits and manipulation skills to end his brother, force his nephew to run, and then take over the pride. This guy is sneaky, devious, and is willing to go to great lengths to get what he wants.

He was probably one of the craftiest Disney villains.

So how would he be as a human? There have been quite a few different interpretations of a human Scar. I like these two since they show some different sides to him. In both of them, he has this slight smirk that shows he knows something you don’t. And his eyes in both versions have this surprising intensity to them. You see that this guy is ambitious and he’s always got something planned.

14 Stop Horsing Around

In quite a few Disney movies, there’s a horse that’s surprisingly expressive and knows a lot more of what’s going on than you think. In general, they act pretty human, considering they’re horses. So, what would these equine creatures be like as humans? Well, probably not that different, actually.

This artist took a few popular horses from various Disney movies and designed them as humans. I like that while they are human, their faces are still a bit longer to show their horse origins. And their personalities are still shining through splendidly. Samson (the horse in Sleeping Beauty) has this distracted look (probably looking for carrots), Pegasus looks incredibly mischievous and snarky, Frou Frou is very proper but kind, and Kahn is rather dignified but also ready to fight anyone who crosses him.

13 These Guys All Look Surprisingly Good

Finding Nemo was a great story about an overly paranoid father fish who had to face many of his fears in order to find his missing son. On the way, he learns to let go of the things he can’t control and to face danger with a smile. It’s a surprisingly heartwarming story about a bunch of fish.

Pretty much all of the human versions of the characters are spot on.

So how would these fish look like as humans? I really like how this artist portrayed human Nemo. Just like fish Nemo has a messed-up fin, human Nemo has a missing hand. It’s a cool little detail. Pretty much all of the human versions of the characters are spot on. Marlin is still this neurotic, paranoid guy, while Dory is pretty carefree. I also like that the sharks look like punks, and Gill still has some pretty intense scars. These designs are pretty true to their characters.

12 This Romance Can Get Pretty Wild

Like Micky and Minnie, Donald and Daisy Duck are one of Disney’s more iconic couples, though their relationship tends to be more… explosive. The fact that both have some pretty violent tempers probably doesn’t help things. All in all, Donald and Daisy do make for a pretty sweet couple and I always like to see them together.

As humans, I don’t think they would be much different. They would totally be in love, but would also bicker quite a bit. I like that these two versions present some different sides of them. One of them being very classy, while the other shows them a bit more relaxed and casual. It shows that no matter what era they’re in, Donald and Daisy will still be that fiery couple in love.

11 This Pilot Will Crash Into Your Heart

Whether you grew up watching Ducktales or Darkwing Duck, you still thought Launchpad McQuack was a pretty awesome and funny character. The fact that he was always crashing planes and cars was pretty fun, and his genuinely nice personality just made you want to love him. Considering that Scrooge continued to hire him over the years despite his track record just speaks to Launchpad’s awesomeness.

His genuinely nice personality just made you want to love him.

I think human Launchpad looks just as nice as his duck counterpart. You can tell in his eyes that he’s a pretty chill dude who’s always there to help out where he can (even if he’s sometimes not that helpful.) I also like that the artists kept his red hair. It just suits him so well, for some reason. Keep rocking it, Launchpad!

10 This Fish Is Pretty Cute As A Human

Flounder was Ariel’s cute little fish sidekick. While he wasn’t the bravest of fish, he always tried to be there for Ariel through thick and thin. Though to be fair, he was just a young little guy, so it makes sense he would be a scaredy-cat, er, fish. (Ariel doesn’t seem to mind, since she affectionately calls him a guppy to tease him.) But what would he look like as a human?

A lot of people seem to portray him as a young boy with blue hair. Makes sense, since his fins were blue. Looking at him with Ariel, you could see the two as possible siblings. He pretty much is like a little brother to Ariel, so that wouldn’t be much of a stretch. Whether he’s human or not, Flounder would still remain Ariel’s loyal friend.

9 This Experiment Is Looking Pretty Good

I think Experiment 626, also known as Stitch, goes through a surprising amount of character development throughout the movie Lilo and Stitch. He starts out as this slightly deranged monster, bent on destroying everything he touches. But then he slowly becomes a caring individual who found a family that he was willing to do anything to protect. That’s quite the character growth.

It’s still the little blue monster we all love.

But how would Stitch look like as a human? Well, it depends on the artist. Some show him with blue hair, some make him super short, while others make him tall. I do like Hyung86’s version of Stitch since he looks very human, but you can get little hints here and there that it’s still the little blue monster we all love. I do still like his cute and fluffy form, though.

8 This Couple Is Right At Home In The Snow

I feel like not enough people talk about the movie Balto, and it’s a shame. The movie, while having a few faults, is pretty solid, giving us some hair-raising adventure and some pretty fun characters. The bond between Balto and Jenna is very sweet and Jenna’s devotion to her human, Rosie, is adorable. These two are willing to go through anything to save the little girl.

I really like these human versions of Balto and Jenna. You can really feel the love they have for each other in these art pieces. And human Jenna giving human Balto her scarf is just as cute as the dog version! I could see these two being some type of skiers or snowboarders. They would be right at home in the snow and cold and would definitely bond over sledding.

7 Unlikely Friends Can Overcome Anything

The Fox and the Hound was a story about how friendship could transcend any prejudice. This movie presented the idea that no matter who or what you are, you matter and you can make friends. Todd and Copper were both adorable as the main characters, and you found yourself heartbroken when they were turned against each other. But friendship won in the end.

Copper looks like a gentry fox hunter, while Todd looks like part of a rougher crowd.

So how would these two be as humans? I like this version since it presents them in a type of setting that is related to their animal counterparts. Copper looks like a gentry fox hunter, while Todd looks like part of a rougher crowd, someone Copper wouldn’t normally associate with. I also like that the artist stuck with the two character’s color schemes, and they look pretty good!

6 These Two Will be Best Friends Forever

In Monsters Inc., you can tell that Mike Wasowski and James P. Sullivan (or Mike and Sully) have been friends for a long time. They have a pretty strong bond that isn’t easily broken, even though the events of the movie do strain it. But no matter what, these two monsters will be there for each other.

How do these two look as humans? Pretty good, I’d say. I like that the height differences are still there, so Sully is still practically towering over Mike. I also like that they have blue and green hair, matching their monster colors. I do find it interesting that Mike kept his horns in the second picture. It’s an interesting interpretation on the artist’s part, but I think it suits him pretty well.
