Future War Cult has won Destiny 2’s Faction Rally this past week, marking the first time in the game’s history that the faction managed to pull ahead of its competition.

The Faction Rally is an event that happens once every few weeks in Destiny 2, and provides players an opportunity to pledge to their faction of choice and play the game in order to further their chosen faction’s influence in the competition. At the end of the week, the faction that had the most fervent playerbase comes home with a victory.

The Future War Cult victory means a few things for both those pledged to the faction and those who happened to lose this week’s Faction Rally. First and foremost for the majority of players, Future War Cult loyalists will get much easier access to the victory weapon (a pretty nifty sidearm) being offered up in honor of this week’s faction rally.

Future War Cult pledges will be able to acquire the weapon for a measly 1,000 Glimmer (one of of Destiny 2’s numerous currencies), while those from opposing factions will have to shell out 50,000 Glimmer for it. To give some perspective, the game’s cap for Glimmer is 100,000.

For those who are looking for this event’s Faction Rally rewards, they can be found in the western wing in the tower with Lakshmi-2 (The representative of the Future War Cult). Those who speak to Lakshmi-2 will get a quick greeting based on their Faction Rally affiliation, and then gain access to the victory reward.

Future War Cult is offering The Vision this season, a three-round burst sidearm that is manufactured by Omolon. As far as sidearms are concerned, it handles exceptionally well. For players who enjoy the sort of close-quarters combat that sidearms are conducive to, The Vision is certainly worth picking up. The upcoming release of Forsaken will allow players to bring over their Year 1 gear, so now is still a fine time to hoard some good weapons.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
