The bugs plaguing the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are no secret, as players have been reporting new glitches and exploits every day since the game’s release. The newest bug in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War may take the cake when it comes to absurdity, however, as it sees players flying high into the sky.
While relief may be in sight for the Zombies weapon XP bug, this new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War issue is one of many multiplayer problems that Treyarch needs to address. While the new bug may be funny on first glance, it was anything but a laughing affair for the players affected, with one remarking that it feels as if Treyarch did not have any play-testing done for the latest CoD game.
Players looking to play the Fireteam Dirty Bomb game mode for its speedy weapon XP may want to be wary of this glitch, as Redditor knoxxb1 found himself and his teammates locked out of the match for the rest of the game. Spawning high above the game’s action, the players were forced to stand by and do nothing as the match played out below. Looking down at the action they were missing, the group was wildly frustrated with the game breaking bug.
While Black Ops Cold War has seen CoD players falling through maps already, the opposite situation seems to be a good bit worse. Though knoxxb1 and his squad can sprint, they do not move when trapped in the sky. Further, with equipment falling below the group, there is no way for the players to kill themselves and respawn. For the remainder of the match, the players must wait above the action, venting their anger to one another.
This new Black Ops Cold War glitch does not end with the players in the sky, however, as it comes with some secondary issues as well. Not only do the map’s textures fail to load in for the players, but for whatever reason, the team size is increased from 4 players to 6. This awful bug has shown off a few glaring issues with both the Fireteam Dirty Bomb game mode and the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as a whole.
Hopefully this glitch is fixed quickly, as it is a good bit worse than many of the other problems currently seen within the new Call of Duty. With a major Season 1 patch for Black Ops Cold War on the way, Treyarch has a chance to address game-breaking issues like this one before it is too late.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
