Game of Honor is the first show of its kind, combining modern ESports entertainment with a pro-wrestling twist - complete with championship belts and eccentric personalities. Tonight, Game of Honor participants are going head to head in the show’s first-ever mid-season finale, ‘Game Evolve.’ The event is shaping up to be a one of a kind showdown with pro-gamers, Pirates, and Ninjas joining the fray for an all-out battle royale.

Game of Honor: Season 4 - First Half Highlights

The Game of Honor show is on its 4th season, with the competitors vying for prizes such as championship titles, money, unique opportunities, and a smorgasbord of other incentives. For those who need a mid-season refresher, here are some of the highlights from the first half of this season’s Game of Honor.

Early on in the season, The Alliance defended their spot in the upcoming Co-op championship roster against The Team of Kawaii Britt and The Brad in a round of Rayman Legends: Kong Foot.

Episode 4’s main event saw Manny valiantly defend his title and spot in the upcoming Internet Championship against Liz Pheonix. The competitors duked it out in a round of Viewtiful Joe.

Episode 5 commenced the 3-episode tournament showdown between The Alliance and The World teams to see who would take the spot in Game Evolve’s co-op championship match. The Alliance defended their belts and claimed their rightful place in tonight’s championship.

Gaming Evolve: Midseason Championships

Tonight’s Gaming Evolve ‘super show’ marks Game of Honor’s first mid-season championship and the second most significant event of the year behind the show’s season finale, Final Stage. I got the chance to speak with the show’s co-owner and commentator, Deaubrey Devine- better known as Admiral Black-to discuss tonight’s events. Gaming Evolve aims to depict the constant evolution of the gaming industry and, in doing so, will showcase both classic and new-gen titles.

Tonight’s Matchups:

Adrian Von Tesla v. Stigma

We bridge the gap of generations and appreciate the evolution and competitive spirit of gaming as a whole. -Deaubrey Devine (Co-Owner and Commentator aka Admiral Black)

These two will be going head to head in Tetris Zero. Stigma is the favorite in this matchup, winning every match since his debut. Adrian, on the other hand, is an inventor by trade, competing in hopes of earning some dough t0 finance his craft. These two previously teamed up in round 1 of The Alliance v. The World tournament, but were knocked out by their competitors.

Stigma got upset and started a fight I had to break up. At Gaming Evolve the two will settle their differences once and for all. - Admiral Black

Pre-Order Bonus 4-Player Match: Kawaii Britt v. Venus v. El Gallo Azteca v. Matt Edwards

In this match, the players will compete in a Homerun contest on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Pre-Order Bonus prize, which allows players to cash in on any of the three championship matches, replacing a challenger to shake up the competition. This match is a golden opportunity for the competitors to climb the ranks for Game of Honor’s season finale.

Co-Op Championship Match: The Alliance (Blackburn & Kunai) v. Corruption (brothers, Mason & Judas King)

The Alliance and Corruption will be duking it out in Super Bomberman R. This will no doubt be a heated match as Blackburn, was a member of the former Corruption team. If Corruption wins this round, it means their new leader, Mason King, will have beaten every member of the old Corruption team lineup.

Internet Championship Match: (Challenger) Scarlet Con v. Manny (Reigning Champion)

The Internet Championship will also be settling some scores in Injustice 2. The reigning champ, Manny and challenger Scarlet Con were competitors in The Alliance v. The World tournament earlier this season. After Manny blamed Scarlet for their loss, the firey gametress was keen to take on Manny to prove him wrong and made a strong case to Admiral Black, resulting in her place in tonight’s Internet Championship. If she wins this match, Scarlet Con will become a first-time champion on Game of Honor.

Game Evolve premieres tonight at 7 pm EST on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. This semi-final showdown is geared up to become a yearly event for Game of Honor. Whether or not tonight sees some scores settled and bad blood wiped clean, ESports fans can rest assured there will be plenty more feuds to spring up out of these turbulent events. These dissensions are likely to carry through future seasons of the show, so be sure to tune in tonight to experience the many individualistic personalities and get in on their tumultuous rivalries.
