As the global coronavirus pandemic has affected many areas of gaming, esports learning platform GamerzClass has announced a donation initiative to join the fight against the virus. The platform will grant one free course to those who donate at least $10 to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. This announcement comes a day before the launch of their latest Dota 2 training course, which features Evil Geniuses support Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen.
Cr1t- joins the GamerzClass Dota 2 lineup, headlining his own 18-episode position four master class. Cr1t- boasts an extensive Dota career, having been active in the professional scene since 2012. He lifted trophies at the Frankfurt and Manila Majors with OG Esports, and later placed third at The International 2018 with Evil Geniuses. The recent DreamLeague Season 13 Major saw him place second after a five-game series against Team Secret.
Nielsen covers ganking, hero selection, warding, and more throughout his GamerzClass course, according to the platform’s outline. Cr1t- leads the first support-focused Dota 2 class available on the website. The previous Dota 2 course features two-time International champion Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, who goes over Dota fundamentals. An upcoming course with offlaner Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang was recently announced, in which the Fnatic star will teach vital position three skills. The offlane course will be available in May.
In addition to their new courses, GamerzClass also launched a coronavirus pandemic donation initiative. Their announcement states that anyone who sends in a screenshot or receipt of a minimum $10 donation to the World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund will receive a GamerzClass course of their choice free of charge. The Response Fund aids medical workers in getting the supplies they need, and helps WHO track and understand the spread of the virus.
GamerzClass hosts courses focusing on different aspects of a variety of popular esports games. Top-tier professional players have led classes in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, FIFA, and League of Legends. Talents such as Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt, and Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen have each taught courses with over a dozen videos available.
Cr1t-’s Dota 2 support course is currently on sale for $40, or for free with a $10 donation. The Response Fund donation initiative lasts until the end of March.
