Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently got its second Summer Update which, amongst other things, introduced weekly fireworks displays to the game. It seems these displays leave quite the impression both on a grand scale as well as on a little tiny scale, as evident in this small detail players have noticed in the game.
Pointed out by a New Horizons player on Twitter, when fireworks are going off outside your house while you’re inside it – you’ll notice that they actually light up the inside of said house.
Speaking of smaller details, the New Horizons’ new fireworks display feature also lets you customize the fireworks which show up during each event (you can turn some of your own designs into fireworks by speaking with Isabelle). Oh and in case you’re new to the party, fireworks displays take place every Sunday night in August between 7 PM and 12 AM.
All of these little details work together to give the overall immersion factor a nice boost, besides just being really adorable features in an already-really-adorable game.
It may not be considered “a big deal” to many people out there, but we shamelessly derive great joy from taking moments to slow down and notice teeny-tiny details such as this in our favorite games. If that means dedicating an entire post to an extra flicker of light dancing across your cozy little sitting room in Animal Crossing, then you bet we’re game.
