Ghost Of Tsushima is one of the biggest games of the summer and has received a lot of fanfare for its open-world samurai shenanigans. It might not be your cup of tea if you’re tired of the standard AAA game formula, but those who just wanted to ride a horse and stab things have certainly gotten some considerable bang for their buck.
Tsushima is also one of the last PS4 exclusives as we race toward the next generation of consoles. As a way of celebrating this fact, there’s a nice little Easter egg in the game that features origami representations of classic Playstation franchises.
As you can see in this picture, someone in feudal Japan must have the power to see into the future. Either that or the car and motorcycle were invented in the 13th century and we’re only finding out now.
These origami figures are obviously references to a selection of Sony’s exclusive titles from the PlayStation 4. Going from left to right we see the following items:
- A red car meant to represent Gran Turismo Something that looks like a deer but is likely supposed to be a Tallneck from Horizon Zero Dawn A motorcycle from Days Gone Ratchet’s head from Ratchet & Clank The Knight, arguably the most famous colossus from Shadow Of The Colossus Kratos’ ax from God Of War Ellie’s guitar from The Last Of Us Part II A spear, which commenters on the Reddit post believe to be from Bloodborne The strange helmet logo from Kojima Productions which must be a nod to Death Stranding An L-shaped figure which doesn’t represent a game, but is the logo for Sony’s London studio (they made SingStar!) A baseball bat from MLB The Show The helpful Imp from Dreams
This is a nice little treat for longtime PlayStation fans who decided to stick by Sony for this current generation. It shows just how strong their exclusive game lineup was for the PS4 as almost all of these games are certified classics. Well, maybe not Days Gone as that didn’t quite meet the hype, but this is still a murderer’s row of great games.
The PlayStation 5 is only months away now as it’s due to launch this holiday season. Considering its advanced hardware, we can’t wait to see what kind of Easter eggs developers are going to make with all that processing power.
