When doling out damage on Super Smash Bros., Jigglypuff opts to hit opponents with its tiny tuft of hair, not its hands and feet.
Gamers can argue until the cows come home about what has been the best crossover in video game history. However, unless they say Super Smash Bros., they’re wrong. The fighting series continues to bring characters from all over the video game universe together to find out who is the very best. Where else can people pit Pikachu, Snake, and Cloud against one another in a triple threat match?
Be warned, playing Smash with the kind of person who can’t watch a movie without constantly commenting on what isn’t realistic is not advised. Yes, we know Captain Falcon could punt kick Pichu into oblivion but just play along, okay? We’re also very aware that Jiggypuff’s arms and legs are far too short to be of any use whatsoever.
Well, if anyone ever does comment on the length of Jigglypuff’s limbs while playing Smash, we have the perfect comeback for you. When the pink Pokémon is pummeling away on its opponents, it isn’t using its limbs. It is actually using the small quiff of hair between its ears. Check it out below as Jigglypuff goes to town on Captain Falcon.
It doesn’t appear to be a new addition either, with players reporting that they first noticed Jigglypuff was using its hair as far back as Brawl at the very least. It must be tricky for Nintendo to put together the move set of a character like Jigglypuff. It can sing its opponent to sleep, what else? Bringing its quiff (or should we say puff?) of hair into the equation was smart on their part.
Jigglypuff is a firm favorite among Smash stalwarts. Chances are newer players who see that they only have a Jigglypuff to overcome will lull them into a false sense of security. It isn’t until it’s too late that they realize the Pokémon is a force to be reckoned with. Its lullaby, Kirby-like recovery move, and impactful quiff make for a formidable Smash package. Never underestimate Jigglypuff.
