Kingdom Hearts is a love letter for both Disney & Final Fantasy fans, but Square Enix went the extra mile with the 101 dalmatians in the game.

In the first Kingdom Hearts game, 99 dalmatians are all lost throughout the worlds, and it is Sora’s job to find them all. Once found, they’ll return to the Dalmatians’ House in Traverse Town and play around in the rooms that Sora can enter. If you look carefully, each of the puppies has spots in different places, just like the Disney movie they’re from.

If you look at the picture above, the one on the left dangerously playing with the vase has 4 spots on its left ear. The other watching only has 3. The right puppy has 3 spots on its left back leg, while the other has just 1. This carries on with other dalmatians in the image shown below. The puppy in the middle has a black ear, and the one on the right has a white ear, as well as a spot on the top of its head. It’s pretty crazy how much effort they put in just for the dalmatians, and it’s adorable at the same time!

We also found how accurate the Kingdom Hearts series is to real-life locations in the game. In Kingdom Hearts 1’s Neverland, we see the Houses of Parliament with a waving British flag and, way in the distance, Westminster Abbey. Square Enix truly went above and beyond with this classic game.

Xbox fans have recently been able to enjoy the classic Kingdom Hearts games for the first time, and all 10 games, including Kingdom Hearts 3, are now available on Xbox Game Pass. That’s a nutty deal.

The next game in the series, Melody of Memory, is a music rhythm game that’s scheduled to release this year for the PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. If the trailer is anything to go by, the story follows Kairi on her journey to find Sora after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3. Players will be keeping up to the beat of over 140 songs over the course of the story line or through online multiplayer matches.
