Video game merch distributor Gaming Heads have announced the pre-order phase of its new life-size bust of Kratos from God of War. The incredibly detailed and life-like bust is available for pre-order from the distributor’s website retailing at $799.99, with a non-refundable deposit of $80.
Estimated to start shipping in the first quarter of 2021, Gaming Head’s replica of the Norse Era God of War Kratos stands at just over two feet tall. The bust was cast from polystone resin featuring the finer details that have been hand painted by Artisans using in-game files as references. Included with the bust is the deluxe full-color packaging, a hand numbered base for the bust and a card that authenticates the item and allows you to reserve the same edition number of future releases in the Gaming Heads God of War series. The collector’s piece is limited to only 500 units and measures 66cm/38cm/48cm.
Fans who were brave enough to fork out a small fortune for Kratos have been quick to book their place in the first wave of pre-ordering. Various statues from The Legacy of Kain Series, Just Cause 3 and Mass Effect join the Kratos’ bust on the long list of available pre-orders - all priced at over $100.
Kratos is also known as the “Ghost of Sparta,” and first appeared back in 2005 with the first installment of the God of War series. Kratos’ mission, throughout the Greek era of the series, surrounds the character’s attempt to stop a disaster from happening in order to change his fate. He is a spartan warrior with violent tendencies who became the “ghost” after accidentally killing his family - his flesh permanently chalked by his wife and daughter’s ashes. Ares, the Greek God of War, manipulated Kratos into murdering his beloveds who set out to avenge their death.
