Dave Bautista, better known by his WWE professional wrestling ring name Batista, was originally planned to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame today. While that event was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Batista is receiving something else that’s special instead. The Coalition is introducing the Batista Bomb finisher to Gears 5 as free DLC.
Gears 5 multiplayer features a huge variety of executions that can be performed on a downed enemy. Batista’s finisher, the Batista Bomb, coincidentally was also a great way to finish off downed opponents in the ring. To be fair, real-world Batista’s finisher only stunned his opponents for a pin, while the Gears 5 version definitely makes his opponents explode.
The Batista Bomb execution is free to all Gears 5 players, so long as they pick up the game and play between April 2 and April 18. After that, the Batista Bomb will disappear much like the exclusive Batista Gears 5 multiplayer skin that was available between September 15 and October 28, 2019.
It’s unclear if the Batista Bomb promotion is intended to coincide with WWE’s WrestleMania Pay Per View event, the biggest promotion of the company’s year. Or at least the biggest in years not affected by COVID-19. Either way, the free Gears 5 DLC does line up with WrestleMania 2020, which airs on both on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 5.
Gears 5 is available now on PC and Xbox One.
