Gears 5 is free to play on PC this weekend. Yes, you heard me: free.
Gears 5 came out last September as the most successful launch on the Xbox One for an exclusive IP. It has since been eclipsed by the Master Chief Collection, but still, it’s a very good game worthy of your time. It’s also free to play on PC this weekend, so you have no excuse.
From now until April 12 (so basically this weekend) you can download Gears 5 on Steam or the Windows Store and play it for free. Since most of us are stuck at home and have nothing better to do, that should be plenty of time to grind through the entire campaign and get a taste of some of Gears 5’s various multiplayer modes.
If you still like the game afterward, you can just pay to keep playing it. There are no strings here, so you do you.
In related Gears 5 news, those that have Batista unlocked will be happy to note that his signature wrestling move, the Batista Bomb, was recently added to the game as an execution move. How cool is that?
