Microsoft and The Coalition have kept Gears 5 updated with new content through the game’s seasonal Operations. Now Gears 5 is currently in the midst of Operation 3: Gridiron, which includes new characters for multiplayer and Horde Mode.

For Heroes, Gears 5 now has the likes of Augustus Cole and Clayton Carmine for players to choose from. Like other Gears 5 characters, both Cole and Carmine come with their own unique abilities and weapons. For Villains, Gears 5 Operation 3: Gridiron adds Queen Myrrah to the mix, along with Theron Guard. However, new characters aren’t the only thing for Gears 5 fans to look forward to with Operation 3: Gridiron.

Gears 5 Operation 3: Gridiron also adds two new maps to the multiplayer experience. Alongside the brand new map Pahanu is Canals, which is a remake of the fan favorite map of the same name from the original Gears of War. 2v2 play is also getting some new maps in the form of Annex and Arena.

Gears 5 Operation 3: Gridiron will kick off on March 30 with a title update that will add these new characters, maps, and cosmetics to the game. The Coalition has also promised a new batch of achievements for Gears 5 players to unlock as well, with more information coming with the March 30 patch notes.

Gears 5 is out now for PC and Xbox One, with an Xbox Series X version also in development.
