Even with new consoles looming on the horizon, Microsoft appears to still have a few big titles up its sleeves for Xbox One fans. Revealed last year at E3 2018, Gears 5 plans to mix things up a bit by putting players in the shoes of Kait Diaz as she attempts to piece together the origins of the Locust horde. Thanks to some leaked advertising, it appears the rumored release date of September 10 may be pretty accurate.
While Microsoft is set to reveal the future at its E3 2019 press conference on Sunday June 9, billboards went up a few days prior across Los Angeles to prepare for the annual event. One such advertisement featured the key art for Gears 5 as well as a bit of previously unknown information. Next to the image of Kait and the logo is the release window of Fall 2019. With a release date set for a few months from now, it’s entirely likely that Microsoft reveals the actual date at the show.
The other fairly big piece to this billboard is the news that Gears 5 will be featured on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service. The news certainly makes the service even more appealing, joining other Xbox first party titles that launched day and date on the service like Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and Crackdown 3.
While it’s no secret that Microsoft plans to highlight Gears 5 during its Sunday E3 Press Conference, there are still plenty of details that aren’t known. Rumors have surfaced over the past few weeks indicating that the game can run in 4K Ultra HD resolution while holding a steady 60 frames per second in all game modes. In addition, players will be traversing over plenty of diverse environments in the biggest world the franchise has ever seen.
Gears 5 launches this Fall 2019 on Xbox and PC.
