Gears Tactics is the latest entry in the Gears of War franchise and is currently out on PC for Gears and strategy genre fans to enjoy for its intricacies and differentiation from the previous Gears of War titles. However, the game can be difficult, which includes its first boss fight with the Brumak.

Brumaks are huge, towering monsters within the Gears of War series that have chainguns attached to their forearms, missile launchers attached to their shoulders, and the ability to use brute melee force. This is no different in Gears Tactics, so here’s how to easily defeat the Brumak in Gears Tactics.

Players will encounter the Brumak at the end of Chapter 6 of Act 1. Its attacks include those related to its abilities mentioned above. For instance, its first attack involves the use of its forearm-attached chainguns, which the Brumak will fire at you. This is one of the creature’s most frequently used attacks, so be sure your COGs are in cover by the time the Brumak gets the chance to attack.

Its melee attack involves stomping the ground near player units. These attacks pack a punch, so be sure to keep your infantry away from these attacks.

The Brumak’s final form of attack is the use of its missile launchers, which the Brumak will use at the end of every turn to hit targeted enemies. Try to move your infantry out of the way of its targets so that the blast radius has no effect on them.

To the best of your ability, focus all your firepower on the chainguns. They can be taken out swiftly in a few rounds should you be able to focus on them for their 2,000 health.

However, watch out for Emergence holes and make sure they’re either plugged up or that enemies emerging don’t get the better of you.

Once the chainguns are taken out, all you really have to worry about is the missile launcher and stomp attack. However, the Brumak itself will be defeated via attacks on the Imulsion tanks on its back. The Brumak’s health bar will be separated into three parts, each of which represents an Imulsion tank. To efficiently take out the tanks, have COGs on either side of the Brumak. Once the Imulsion tanks are attacked, the Brumak turns 180 degrees, so having COGs on both sides allows for an attack every round. Snipers are fairly effective against the Imulsion tanks.

Repeat these steps, being sure to dodge missiles and stomp attacks, and the Brumak should be defeated handily.
