Genshin Impact is filled with tons of characters with more newcomers coming out all the time. Each character has their own backstory, likes and dislikes, and connections to the other characters that live around them. From Fischl’s book-loving nature to Beidou’s well-known ballet prowess, every character has their own quirks that make them interesting.

Some lore is a bit stranger than others, though, and even alters the way players look at Teyvat. Other bits of information help to flesh out some of the best character-to-character relationships that can give even more context to the events of the game.

10 Tartaglia is an Anomaly

Tartaglia, known as Childe by many members of the fanbase, is a complete anomaly among the Fatui harbingers. Tartaglia was trained in another dimension at a young age and has little interest in the darker politics the organization is interested in; he is also known for being extremely outgoing.

He doesn’t get along with the other harbingers and was sent to Liyue in order to keep him from creating any trouble close to home.

9 Jean and Barbara are Sisters

Jean and Barbara are sisters who were separated when their parents got a divorce. This led them to not growing up together and now having an awkward relationship as adults. Both the sisters want to spend more time with the other, but things get in the way, like work or Jean’s anxiety about getting to know Barbara.

The two will likely have parts of their story collide as they are eventually going to have to spend more time together.

8 Kaeya Was a Spy

Kaeya has a dark past that begins when his father left him to spy on Mondstadt’s wine industry as a young boy. Kaeya was taken in by Dilucs father, and the two grew up together as brothers. The night Dilucs dad died, though, Kaeye finally came clean to Diluc about his true intentions.

While Kaeya did end up choosing Mondstadt over his former home, his dark past still remains hidden from everyone but Diluc.

7 Qiqi is Over a Hundred

Qiqi may look young, but she is a zombie that has been around for a very long time. She was actually the casualty in a fight and revived by an adepti. Upon reentering the world though, she lost control at some point, forcing the adepti to imprison her for a hundred years in amber to stop her rampage.

Qiqi isn’t even sure how old she truly is as she has a very hard time remembering day to day life as it is.

6 Klee’s Mother is Alice

Klee’s mother is none other than Alice, who was Mona’s teacher’s rival, a great explorer, and a companion to Zhongli. Klee takes after her mother as she already has a vision despite her young age, is already a member of the knights, and is extremely gifted with crafting when making her weapons.

Klee is likely going to be one of the top adventurers in the world when she grows older as Alice is posed to be an incredible character.

5 Zhongli Hates Seafood

Zhongli has a passionate hate for seafood and avoids eating it at all costs. This is because he had to get rid of parasites in Liyues past that came from the sea. The smell and feel of the parasites were enough to eternally turn Zhongli off from being able to eat any sea creature that isn’t cut up.

It’s a bit strange to think that something so small could turn the stomach of an adepti for thousands of years.

4 Keqing is a Survival Expert

Keqing is probably one of the only characters that could easily survive in the wild for months at a time. Despite her status, she often goes on expeditions across Liyue with nothing more than her sword and comb. She is able to feed herself and keep herself warm in bad weather conditions.

Keqing is much more well-rounded than Ningquang, especially when it comes to her understanding of the Liyue landscape.

3 Noelle is Incredibly Strong

Noelle is a character who is known for having an abnormal amount of strength. The girl is able to lift absurdly heavy objects and go on quests that even some of the official knights would die trying to do. Jean is amazed by Noelle’s abilities and regularly has to send her on strange tasks to keep her from hurting herself.

Noelle doesn’t know it yet, but she is already performing far better than some of the other knights could ever dream of.

2 Oz Hates His Name

Fischl is a bookworm who got many of her ideas, including her name from a book series she had read. When her vision appeared, so did a bird that she quickly decided to name Oz after a bird just like him in her favorite book. Oz reveals that he isn’t the biggest fan of the name, though.

It’s unlikely that Fischl will ever change it, even if she does decide to start going by her real name, Amy.

1 Bennett is Luckier Than You Think

Bennett is actually pretty lucky when you consider the story of how he was found. Bennett was an infant abandoned in an area of Teyvat that was untouched and incredibly dangerous. He was found by a seasoned adventurer who brought him back to Mondstadt to live.

The adventures at the guild all chipped in to help him have a good life and make sure that he was happy.
